St. Charles Food Pantry
The pantry is in need of drink mixes, peanut butter and jelly and cereal. There are many of our
families who will not have the schools to rely on for breakfast and lunches during the summer.
Please be generous.
The best deal in town!!
Our teens and adults traveling to Indianapolis
for the NCYC trip will be selling tickets for a Delta Sonic Car Wash.
For a price of $12 you will get a Super Kiss Wash (which costs
$14.03) AND our teens make $6!!! Super Kiss Wash gets you: Touch
-less wash with a 2nd free wash within 5 days…High pressure
sprays, sonic suds, revitalizer, underspray, rust inhibitor, clearcoat
polish, clearcoat protectant and brake dust remover!!! The first
200 tickets sold also get a $5 gift card! That’s a value of
$19.03
Our teens will be selling tickets at Masses throughout the summer. You can order tickets by contacting Terri Condon at [email protected] or calling 487-6201 This is an amazing value and our teens earn $6 for every ticket sold! This ticket and gift card would make a great gift or a great treat for yourself. Why break your back scrubbing, polishing and getting a sunburn?? Sup-port our trip to the National Catholic Youth Conference by getting your tickets from us – it saves you money and makes us money!
RESPECT LIFE
The commitment to defend the weakest and most vulnerable human
beings does not arise from a political party or platform, or from any
kind of personal or communal agenda. Nor does it arise from bishops,
priests, or pastors. Rather, it arises from our humanity itself, fash-
ioned as it is by the hand of God. God, who is life, writes upon our
hearts its value, and He bestows on us both the gift of life and the
privilege and duty to defend it. No one needs any kind of permission
to defend life, nor can anyone excuse himself from that duty. Nobody
has a monopoly on the defense of life, nor is the pro-life task a means
to an end. Defending life is an end in itself, and has in itself all the
justification it ever needs.

Family Perspective
In today’s gospel, “the apostles gathered around and told Jesus all
they had done.” Listening allows the other person to express, under-
stand and appreciate their experiences. Whether it is the excited chat-
ter of a young child or the repetitious stories of an aging grandparent,
listening is important. It is not just time well spent, it is sacred time.
