These 34 family devotions in Luke’s Gospel look at nine meals that Jesus shared with people. As you read these passages, your children will be transported to the dinner table alongside Jesus. They will be able to ask their deepest questions and hear Jesus speak. Your children will see for themselves who Jesus really is and why they can trust him.

CSW - Cuba

Yoel Suárez is a Christian and independent journalist in Cuba. He writes about human rights issues, particularly religious freedom abuses, and this makes him a target for the regime. He told us, “I have been 'regulado' (under an indefinite travel ban) since February and I cannot leave the country. This is for political reasons, because I have covered violations of religious freedom in Cuba…It is really painful that covering issues which are uncomfortable for the government resulted in a punishment of this kind.” Yoel had applied for two scholarships outside of Cuba, but the travel ban imposed on him means that his application cannot even be considered. Worse still, there is no means available for him to appeal the decision. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Yoel has been detained and interrogated by State Security agents six or seven times, and has been restricted from reporting on the Christian community or religious freedom issues during the pandemic.

Pray with us for the restrictions on him to be unconditionally lifted and that the travel ban on around 250 activists, journalists, religious leaders and artists would also be lifted.

Church Youth Worker

Fuller Baptist Church is looking for a part time church youth worker. This is an exciting new role in the life of the church, acknowledging our desire to invest in our young people (10 – 18) and develop opportunities for outreach.

We’re looking for someone who loves Jesus and wants to see young people grasp faith for themselves; for someone who is gifted at getting alongside young people to support, mentor, resource and encourage. We’re looking for a team player, who can give direction to the committed volunteer youth team and work alongside the ministers and leadership team as we seek to honour and serve God and the town centre community in Kettering, Northamptonshire.

We can offer 20 hours a week (to include Sunday), and a salary of £12,500 and a commitment to support your professional and spiritual development.

Does this sound exciting to you?

Please contact Paul, [email protected] for a full application pack.

Applications need to be returned by Monday 7th September.
