� Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje is oldest and the biggest public University, founded in 1949
� At the moment, the University represents a functional community of 23 faculties, 5 research institutes and 11 accompanying members.

o Around 45.000 active domestic students as well as over 700 foreign students
o Over 2.700 teaching, research and associate academic staff at the faculties and at the institutes;
