MINUTES

I. Called to Order at 12:00 Noon

Sept. 5,1978

Meeting #1

II. The following clubs.were present: Backpacking, Chess,

Christian Science, Electronfics, Tennis, Gay Students

Union, Christians on Campus, Skydiving.

III. Approval of Agenda

IV. Approval of Minutes

v. Advisor's Report -Mr. Canevari welcomed the members

back to a new year and explained that the clubs formed

last semester still had their mailboxes. He also went

on to dmscuss a Club/Clubs to work the Concessions

during the Footbal Season.

VI. Valley Oak Group1 Voter Registration urging the different

Clubs present to go out and work on Voter Registration to

get many students registared.for the Fall Election.

Chess Club requested $50.00 for a Chess Exhibition and eovM fx~cws.c-s :f=(IYI. I{IU

another request for 56.03 toll R-obin- HeGarter for prizes

of a ~~ tournement among the Chess Club.

VII Club Constitutions; Chess Club presented a new Constmtution

from their old one to be vote on by the membership and then

rep ~sente~ to I.c.c. for their approval.

X. New Business, Welcome Day was reported to the Council by

David Harrington as needing Volunteers to work Friday

Sept. 15th at Noon for the Hot Dog Feed, approx • . 500

Hot Dogs and Drink to be presented to Associ:iated Students

I. Chairman John Nickols called the meeting to order at 12:08 p.m.

II. ROLL CALL: The following clubs were absent: Christian Science, Forestry Club and Tennis Club. The French Club and Goju-Kai were added to the foll sheet.

III. APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Add to XI. -Money Making Requests: e) Ardis de Love (jewelry); f) Calvin Taylor (Chess sets); g) William Simpson (art).

IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Delete the second sentence of Section VI and insert the following: "The Chess Club requested $50 for a Chess Exhibition and also requested $56.03 to cover expenses of a nationally rated Chess Tournament".

V. REPORTS a) Mr. Canevari reported that the E.T.C. Club and the Forestry Club were active but not, present. He welcomed the ICC members and reminded them of their mailboxes in the SAO. He explained that any club money should be placed in their account in the SAO and described the deposit and withdraw! procedures. He also announced that rooms are available and that clubs are encouraged to put announcements in the Bear Facts publicizing meetings. Mr. Canevari also asked for volunteers for College Committees and discussed Money Making requests.

b) Facilities -- Mr. Canevari announced that off-campus groups can use campus facilities for a Facilities Charge - Clubs _will not normally

c) CLUB DAY September 21 and 22, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. All clubs are encouraged to have booths. Sign up for tables in the Student Activities Office. Bear Facts announcements regarding your booth is encouraged.

Valley Oaks Voter Group Valley Oaks announced that its contract had been approved.

Welcome Day Mr. Canevari requested volunteers to help at Welcome Day. Sign up in the SAO

Lesbian & Gay Voter Registration The Lesbian and Gay Student Union will sign up voters on September 12 from 6:30 to 9 a.m. and requested a table for this purpose. J(J: OV ~ 2 ~ flO

I. Chairman John Nickols called meeting to order at 12;23 (when a quorum was finally attained)

II. Roll Call: The following clubs were absent:AGS, Christian Science Organization, ETC, Forestry, French, Frisbee, Goju-Kai, Hunger Project Club, Skating Zanies, Tennis, Respiratory Therapy, Foreign Correspond­ents, Aikido and International Students.

IX. a. Rob McCarter announced that he would like to see a touch football game between ICC and CSA and passed around a sign-up list.

b. David Herrington gave an update on the blood drive arrangements.

X. New Business a. Mr. Canevari mentioned the litter problem in the community immed­iately adjacent to the SRJC Campus and indicated much of this was caused by SRJC students. He suggested that a club or clubs could under­take the clenup of this litter as a community service project.
