STAFF, SOCIAL & TRAINING

Our Brighton Team

have relocated and are

settling in to their new

office in Upper Beeding, West Sussex.

We are delighted to have started 2019 with new

members joining the team in the following

disciplines, General Operations, Groundworks,

Administration, Site Management and

Estimating. We continue to advertise new

opportunities on our website.

Our training centre continues to be successful

in delivering accredited

training courses.

We have had an overwhelming response to the

courses we offer, our centre has become

increasingly popular and is keeping the training

team busy. Our fully qualified trainer, Paul

Phillips delivers the training with passion and

through his style of delivery, has generated a

great deal of repeat business for the company.

The feedback we receive from delegates has

been excellent and assures us that we are

offering a first class service.

Our Social Secretary, Mark Sherwood has

organised yet another challenge this Summer.

25 members of staff will be taking part in the

Dunkirk-Bruges Bike Challenge where they will

be cycling over 100 miles; to Bruges by the

coastal route and back to Dunkirk by the

inland route. The team will be raising as much

as possible for charity and a link to the Just

Giving Page will be uploaded to Twitter soon.

Last but not least a huge congratulations to

our Buyer, Victoria Cawkill and Site Manager

Ben Cawkill on the birth of their baby girl

Anastasia.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Due to our continued commitment

to local employment and our

engagement with young people,

schools and colleges, we have

been recognised by East Sussex

County Council as an ‘Industry Champion’,

something we are extremely proud of’.

Well done to the whole team at Westridge

especially the staff who were individually

audited for ISO 9001 Quality Assurance and

14001 Environmental Management. We

have been successfully re-certified for our

continuous improvement throughout the

business.

EVENTS

We are excited to announce that

on Friday 21st June we will be

holding another Country

Pursuits and Charity Day at

our head office. Invites will be

sent out shortly so keep your eyes peeled. As

usual we will have long bow archery, clay

pigeon shooting and the very

popular geese herding, as well

as target golf and the ‘digger

experience’. We are hoping

the day is as successful as

recent years and keep our fingers crossed for a

sunny, dry day!

Having been recently awarded a place on the

Westworks Framework, we will be exhibiting at

their Innovations and Supply Chain event on

Tuesday 2nd April at the National Self Build

and Refurbishment Centre in Swindon. The day

will be a good opportunity to network with

presentations on MMC and OSM.

We continue to attend and support Building

Sussex and Kent Connections, KCFG meetings,

Sussex Construction Forum and Construction

Excellence Kent, Sussex and Surrey, so keep

and eye out for us there.
