SPE WORKSHOP For almost a decade, operators have focused on tight oil and liquids-rich gas to take advantage of favorable oil prices. Of late, however, the model appears to be shaky and prices have dropped drastically since mid-2014. To survive in this lower price environment, operators are focused on lowering costs, and finding and developing sweet spots within their acreage. Has the shale story passed its peak, or is this just the beginning of an even more exciting chapter? Ensuring a brighter future for liquids-rich development will depend upon novel technologies, lower costs, increased recovery, and adaptation to evolving regulations. At this workshop, we will explore the latest developments in these areas, including • Capturing and applying best practices from multiple liquids-rich plays • Extracting more information from existing data • Identifying sweet spots and optimizing field development strategy • Enhancing reservoir simulation, production forecasting, and reserves estimation • Optimizing well placement and pad development • Improving production rates and hydrocarbon recovery during primary development • Taking a proactive approach to reservoir and production surveillance COMMITTEE MEMBERS 10-12 May 2016 Omni Barton Creek Resort | Austin, Texas, USA SPE Tight Oil and Liquids-Rich Gas Workshop: Adapting to Survive in a New Price Environment Chairpersons Matt Bell Ikon Science Lance Robertson Marathon Oil Fred Arasteh Arasco Energy, LLC Antoine Bertoncello Total Toby Deen Devon Rob Fulks Weatherford Bob Gales California Resources Corporation Billy Harris Elk River Resources Matt Honarpour BHP Billiton Shirley Indriati Schlumberger Dick Leonard ProTechnics Nagi Nagarajan Hess Lionel Ribeiro Statoil Zack Warren Great Western Operating Company, LLC Contributing Event Sponsor THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSOR

SPE WORKSHOP

For almost a decade, operators have focused on tight oil and liquids-rich gas to take advantage of favorable oil prices.

At this workshop, we will explore the latest developments in these areas, including

• Capturing and applying best practices from multiple liquids-rich plays• Extracting more information from existing data• Identifying sweet spots and optimizing field development strategy• Enhancing reservoir simulation, production forecasting, and reserves estimation• Optimizing well placement and pad development• Improving production rates and hydrocarbon recovery during primary development• Taking a proactive approach to reservoir and production surveillance
