The southeast is a really fun place to visit! A lot of people visit the southeast every year, because the southeast has so much to offer! To find out all this region has to offer keep reading!

States of the SoutheastThere are 12 states in the southeast region. The 12 states and there capitals are:

• Kentucky, Frankfort • Tennessee, Nashville• West Virginia, Charleston• Virginia, Richmond• North Carolina, Raleigh• South Carolina, Columbia• Florida, Tallahassee • Georgia, Atlanta• Mississippi, Jackson• Alabama, Montgomery• Arkansas, Little Rock• Louisiana, Baton Rouge

Natural Resources

There are many natural resources in this region. Some of the main natural resources are:

• Trees• Coal• Oil and Natural gas• Fish• Limestone • Zinc• Rich Farmland

Landforms

There are many landforms in the Southeast!Some of them are:

• Mountains Smoky Mts., Appalachian Mts.

• Beaches Myrtle Beach and the rest of the Atlantic Coast.

The beach line is called the coastal plain because it’s the coast and its flat like a plain.

Bodies of Water

There are 4 majorbodies of water inthis region they are:

• Mississippi River• Atlantic Ocean• Ohio River• Gulf of Mexico

ClimateThe southeast has a very mild climate. Many

retirees come here because of the mild climate.Some people called sunbirds come here duringthe winter because its not real cold. Florida isalso in the sunbelt. This region also gets manyhurricanes between August and November. Themild climate is from the ocean affect. Ocean affectis where the breeze off the ocean warms up theland around it.

Industries

The southeast has a lot of different industries like:• Farming (dairy, beef, and crops)• Paper Mills • Food Manufacturing • Space Industry• Lumber Jack• Furniture Making• Mining

Places to Visit

The southeast is my favorite region because ofall the places there are to visit! Some of theplaces are:• Disney World• The Atlantic Coast• Kentucky Derby• Space Centers (Kennedy Space Center)• And all the wonderful Beaches!!

Fun Facts!!Alabama:1. On a Sunday you are not allowed to

play solitaire or dominoes! 2. After dark on aWednesday you are not allowed to sell peanuts!

Arkansas:1.A man can beat his wife but only 1time per month!

Florida:1. Its against the law to put livestock on aschool bus!

Georgia:1. Its illegal to tie a giraffe to a telephonepole!

Tennesee:1. Its illegal to take a skunk across statelines!!
