Today our skipping team performed at Grafton Shoppingworld as part of a Health and Fitness Expo. Our team did an excellent performance and my thanks to our parents who assisted with transport. This week our school celebrated Naidoc Week. The theme for this week was ‘Our Languages Matter’. On Tuesday our Year 5 students enjoyed a very successful Aboriginal Games day held at McKittrick Park with the Grafton Community of Schools. Our thanks to South Grafton High School for their excellent organisation of this activity. On Wednesday we held two successful Naidoc assemblies. Thank you to Mr Brett Tibbett who spoke to the students and community about the significance of Naidoc Week and our Aboriginal Dance Group who performed extremely well. Our three student speakers Shyanne Martin, Rhys Pepper and Tallara Taylor also presented excellent speeches. Our thanks also to Miss Taylor for her excellent organisation of the dance group.

Also on Wednesday we had students representing our school at the Naidoc Public Speaking competition held at Westlawn PS. We had a team and an individual speaking from Stage 2 and Stage 3. Our two teams were amazing

placing second and third. Congratulations to Caitlin Eggins and Alanna Burchell who were our individual speakers and were both highly commended. All of our students spoke confidently and represented our school with PRIDE. Congratulations to these students and our thanks to Mrs Ada for her organisation of this activity.

Yesterday the official opening of the Grafton Community of School Art exhibition was held at Grafton PS as part of NAIDOC Week celebrations. Artwork from all the schools is being displayed at the Grafton Public School hall and parents are invited to view the exhibition during school hours today and tomorrow. A reminder our fabulous PPP program is starting Week 1 next term, Tuesday 18th July, which is the first day of school for students next term. This program offers your child an excellent opportunity to transition from Preschool to Primary school. Please contact the office to register your child for this excellent orientation program. Our school Reports were sent home yesterday. Please contact the school if you have any concerns or questions regarding you child's report. Tomorrow our Primary Athletics Carnival will be held at Junction Hill weather permitting, our back up date is Friday 21st July. Good luck to all our students tomorrow. Our thanks to Mr Zacek for his organisation of this event. Early this week we had additional security alarms installed in our Infants campus. Both campuses at our school are now fully alarmed in every building which will support our school if we have any intruders. Term 2 has been an outstanding success for our wonderful school and we have celebrated many excellent achievements by our students, staff and community. I would like to thank our entire school community for their excellent support of our school and we are all looking forward to a fabulous Term 3. I wish all our families a safe and enjoyable holiday Peter Hickey Principal

We would just like to say thank you to Mrs Donohoe and Mrs Lawrence for their continued support of the Student banking in our school. Also a big thank you to Mrs Donohoe for volunteering her time on many occasions to cover books in our Library. We really appreciate it!
