Statement of Purpose-Master of Management-Logistics and Supply Chain Management

I am a mid-career professional, having attended the prestigious London school of economics for my Masters in Information Systems and Maastricht School of Management for my MBA. I wish to study Logistics and Supply Chain management with a view to analyze and assess its implications for the burgeoning Indo-Canadian Trade and Investments, whereby keeping an Asian Sectorial focus in perspective.

Logistics and Supply Chain Management in India have assumed an ever greater significance in the wake of impending second stage growth accelarator reforms in Retail, Shipping, Oil and Gas and Agri-business driven value chain verticals. Innovation, sustained long term investments and focussed domain centric policy formulation and implementation within the wider technology driven efficient Supply Chain Management is a must to safeguard our key technology driven business transformation goals and objectives.

Process driven business architectures and project driven core IT applications converge in a systemic chain of events leading to business results being delivered. Technology is expected to securitize the entire business process without impinging on the creativity and rationale needed to solve ever transient and complex societal issues. These issues are more often than not firmly entwined in domain specific best practices and culture centric Morale and ethics (corporate social responsibilities).

Key Intrinsic knowledge deliverables are absolutely essential as companies compete on the basis of vertical and horizontal business synergies. How we shape our internal business processes on the centrality of Supply chain management processes is going to be the key success differentiator as firms across the gamut of industries and services seek to deliver trust, quality and integrity of the committed customer experience. Core competences are no longer a hyperbole, it is in fact a juxtaposition of logic, rationale and critical performance hallmarks of a world leading organization.

Supply Chain management is no longer a mere ancillary function happy to be outsourced and remote managed. It is one of the most if not the most relevant business function acting as a glue to hold upstream and downstream business processes and wellness indicators. My reasons to study Supply chain management stem from an innate desire to excel in the field of regulating and

transversing the flow of goods and services of both intermediate and end products in the value chain pyramid of Business, Technology and corporate Ethics. Having spent almost 10+ years in the corporate world, working across three continents (Europe, Asia and Africa); I am beginning to understand where we need to strategize, regulate and improve and where the anomalies need to be dispensed with within the logistics of moving knowledge and ancillary resources.

Supply Chain Management within the agri-business sector is the key area wherein I would like to focus my studies with a clear focus on obtaining my doctorate in post Masters of Management studies.

Canada being a modern vibrant society is an ideal place to study. It has a rich culture and is well represented by the Indian community; I would be delighted if given an opportunity to contribute to the rich academic and social traditions of your great institution. The University of Windsor-Centre for Executive and Professional Education is internationally renowned and would be an ideal launch pad for my future career.
