Vocabulary Building Vocabulary Some children may see the card for soga (rope) and call it cuerda (cord). Explain that soga (rope) is a large thick cord made of threads or wire twisted together. SLL Spanish-Language Learners Divide the class into pairs. Have one child pick a card and show it to a partner, who should then say the word. Have pairs continue this process with the remaining cards. Listen and provide guidance as necessary. Teacher Tip Listen as children complete the sorting activities. Check their pronunciations and their ability to isolate and discriminate among the beginning sounds in the sort.
