Who We Are Solex Energy Ltd.
Photovoltaic (PV) cells are made up of at least 2 semi-conductor layers. One layer containing a positive charge, the other a negative charge. Sunlight consists of little particles of solar energy called photons. As a PV cell is exposed to this sunlight, many of the photons are reflected, pass right through, or absorbed by the solar cell. When enough photons are absorbed by the negative layer of the photovoltaic cell, electrons are freed from the negative semiconductor material. Due to the manufacturing process of the positive layer, these freed electrons naturally migrate to the positive layer creating a voltage differential, similar to a household battery.

Specification For Modules
1. The modules made of crystalline silicon cells.2. Silicon solar cells with minimum efciency of 17% and that of module shall be greater than 15.5%.3. High-power module preferred.4. The ll factor of modules more than 0.725. Offered modules are certied for IEC 61215 AND 61730 -I & II AND 617016. The module tested at a testing facility on the production premises. Each module will come with a
simulator testing report specifying the rated maximum power output value7. Modules come with performance warranty of minimum of 90% for 10 yrs and 80% up to 25 yrs.8. It shall perform satisfactorily with temperatures between -10 deg C & +85 Def C.9. Each Module is provided with external label consisting details of manufacturer, module number, electrical
rating, approvals.
Module Construction
The modules is made in a clean room environment to ensure high standards of performance in the eld.1. Glass : High-transmissivity, low iron, 3.2 / 4 mm tempered glass2. Ribbons : The cell interconnection tabbing and the string busses solder coated Copper ribbon.3. EVA : EVA material UL certied.4. Substrate : The substrate is a multi- layer back sheet, bound together by Adequate thickness
adhesive materials. The multi layered composition has insulating properties suitable for extended
outdoor use and also for UV exposure, water exposure and immersion. The material has high dielectric performance and uses Dielectric bond Technology (D8T)
5. Wiring Enclosure : The Junction box should be made of material with high RTI (Relative Thermal Index) value, making it suitable for outdoor use. It should be weather resistant.
6. UL/TUV certied cables are sunlight resistant.7. UL/TUV certied end connectors.

"SOLEX" SOLAR LED/CFL HOME LIGHT SYSTEM
Solex Solar Home System is a user friendly and effective light source using the sunlight to provide reliable and cost effective electricity. The Solar Home System is an ideal light source and a viable solution for household electrication in rural areas. The Solar Home System comprises of a rugged PV module for charging the battery, (a ooded Tubular type Battery to store the electric charge), a charge controller for the safe charging and discharging of the battery, two/three light units (Luminaries) with an efcient inverter and 7 / 9/11 W, Compact Florescent lamp, LED Luminaries.The Luminaries are DC operated wall mountable light source and it gives pure white light. It consists of a Compact Fluorescent Lamp (CFL), LED Luminaries and a DC AC high frequency inverter. The high frequency inverter offers high efciency and more light output and provides long life to the CFL and LED Luminaries.

Solex Solar Lantern is a portable light source like a traditional lantern which gives SUN directional pure white light. It consists of Solar Module, Sealed Maintenance Free (SMF) Lead Acid battery, Charge controller and inverter for lighting the Compact Fluorescent Lamp (CFL & LED Light).Highly efcient two-step charge controller protects battery from over charging and deep discharging. High frequency inverter offers high efciency, more light output and long service life to the CFL Lamp & LED Light.

"SOLEX" SOLAR STREET LIGHTING (CFL/LED Type)
Solex Solar Street Lighting system is an ideal lighting system for the illumination of streets, squares and cross
roads located in areas that are not connected to the power grid. This fully integrated system combines the latest
and most innovative technologies available providing years of convenient and trouble free lighting. Fully
assembled factory tested kits are available with or without mounting poles.
The standalone solar photovoltaic street lighting system comprises of a Compact Fluorescent Lamp (CFL
Lamp/LED Lamp) as light source, re-chargeable lead acid battery for storage, PV modules for charging the
battery, suitable electronics for the operation of the lamp and safe charging and discharging of the battery and
mechanical hardware for xing these sub systems.
Ÿ Sun is available either with automatic dusk to dawn operation or with a pre-set timer.
Ÿ Sun is available in 6 models depending on the wattage of the SPV Module, type and size of the battery and mode of operation.

Also known as Grid Tied System. Grid-tied systems are interconnected with the electric utility grid. An inverter converts generated DC Power into AC Power and it is directed onto the main power grid for a credit towards monthly electric utility usage.
On Grid system works with synchronisation to Grid, so Voltage and frequency of Generated Power should match to Grid Power.
An Off-Grid System does not need a connection to grid or additional features to connect the grid, 0 Load is to be supplied independently of solar isolation and the generated power is stored and buffered with a battery, A charge controller is incorporated in the system in order to avoid battery damage.

parameters, fault nding diagnostic and digital 10 signaling

MPPT CHARGE CONTROLLER:
With the function (Maximum Power Point Tracking), it regulates the Output frequency according to irradiation in
real time to achieve the maximum power. Adopting the proposed dynamic VI maximum power point tracking
(MPPT) control method, fast response and stable operation, much better than conventional charging method,
which may lead to the problems including poor tracking performance, unstable or even cause water Hammer
damaging when the irradiation on the array changes rapidly. Conventional Three Phase AC Motor: AC pumps are
conventional pumps that are in use across the world for various applications. Currently these pumps run on AC
power from the grid (Better overall efciency of the pump set will lead to reduce the number of solar panel).
Solar water pumps are designed to lift water for Irrigation, Horticulture, Farming, Gardening, Drinking and
various domestic uses. These systems are best alternatives for areas where there is no electricity or have scarcity
of other power sources like hydrocarbons based fueling system. In-spite of having conventional system SPV water
pumping system appears to be cheap in longer run.
Water pumping has a long history; so many methods have been developed to pump water. People have used a
variety of power sources, namely human energy, animal power, hydro Power, wind, solar and fuels such a diesel
for small generators. The most common pumps used in remote communities are:

A solar irrigation system needs to take account of the fact that demand for irrigation water will vary throughout
the year. Peak demand during the irrigation seasons is often more than twice the average demand. This means
that solar pumps for irrigation can be under- utilized for most of the year although there can be a reduction in
strength of the sun during these times reducing supply side of the equation.

A solar pump for village water supply is shown
schematically in Figure. The Village will have a Constant
water demand although there is need to store water for
periods of low insulation (low Solar radiation). In
environments where rainy seasons occur some of this
demand can be met by rainwater harvesting during the
rainy season.

CURRENT SCENARIO
Most petrol pumps require to be run on a 24x7 basis thereby
requiring an intelligent power management system. Alternate
power sources like diesel generators have a higher switchover
time and the dispenser pump shuts down almost instantly.
Power uctuations also end-up damaging dispensing units at
petrol pumps. Sudden power failure leads to loss of fuel, time
and money of both the customer and the petrol pump owner.
Petrol pumps in Tier 2 & 3 cities face major energy crises because of irregular power supply. In far worse
situations are the petrol pumps in remote locations which have no electricity, face erratic power supply or have
grid supply for a minimal time period. Diesel Generator sets are used as an alternative to electricity from the grid
in these areas. However, this proves to be very expensive as the fuel and maintenance cost of diesel generator sets
is very high.

HOT WATER TANK: storage tank is made from Stainless steel 316 sheet (marine grade steel) / copper sheet to the tank corrosion and for long lasting services
COLLECTOR BOX : Weather tight Construction of corrosion resistant aluminum extruded sections of 16 swg thickness duly anodized.
The collectors are placed at certain angle towards south facing to
get whole day and year round performance. Cold water is lled in
copper tubes and heated. with the principle that black body
absorbs more the absorber surface is coated black. Due to solar
radiation falling on the absorber surface and converted into heat
energy and transfer to water owing through the tubes. At this
stage cold water losses its density and becomeslighter. Due to

GLAZING: Single pane 4.0 mm thick low iron toughened glass rupture resistance and having over 85 % transmittance and low reectance to eliminate glare
ABSORBER PLAT : Made of grooved copper sheet and copper tube structure soldered to each other providing maximum contact area for excellent heat transfer between sheet and tubes. The absorber plate is coated with black nickel chrome coating to produce a superior selective surface having absorptivity 96% and very low emission of 20%.
INSULATION: High density rockwool slabs are used a bottom and sides of the absorber plate to minimize heat loss.5

System Working
The hot water is lifted automatically to the insulated hot water storage tank. Initially the hot water storage
tank is lled with cold water supplied from cold water storage tank which is above hot water tank. The
bottom of the cold water tank is minimum one feet above the top of the water tank to avail the pressure
head of cold water which forces the heated water to rise up and the cold water to take place of raised water.
This process is called THERMO SYPHON PROCESS. It is continuous automatic process and can heats the
water upto 60degreeC according to the design of system output.
