DURING THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER, we as Catholic Christians pray for all those who have died during the

previous year. Please remember these people and their families in your prayers: Mary Bott, Mary Alice Jacobs, Loretta Kuzo, William F. Hasselberger, Bernadette McGinley, Rasami Nester, Frank J. Jacobs, Eleanor McNealis, Michael Hydro, Antoinette Moyzan, Kelly Sue Lombardo, Mildred Boyle, Colin G. O’Shaughnessy, Ann Didato, Ethel Dunne, George Dunne, Stephen Yuhas, Richard Mahler, Margaret Doughterty, Glenn Denkosh, Francis O’Donnell, Kenneth Huber.

A PRAYER FOR ALL SOULS Jesus, dear Savior, on this day we

prayerfully remember all our loved ones who have died. Please give them comfort and hope and may they be at peace, knowing that they will rest in God’s arms eternally. Thank you for our memories of them and for the good times we

shared. We ask You, please, through their intercessions, to deepen our faith, strengthen our

hope and increase our love that we, too, may someday stand before You, ready to enter Your

Holy Kingdom. Amen THE 2021 MASS BOOK IS NOW OPEN FOR REQUESTS. Call ICC Rectory, 570-325-2791, or email [email protected]. Mass requests can be done through the mail, the collection, email, or over the phone. The Mass stipend is $10/request. Please note that due to the high volume of weekend requests, a limit of two Masses a year per family will be accepted for a Saturday vigil/ Sunday Mass. VOCATION AWARENESS WEEK Did you know that in our country, compared to 50 years ago, there are 20,000 fewer priests and 130,000 fewer religious sisters? At the same time, the Catholic population has continued to grow steadily. Many factors have contributed to the decline: growing secularism, a lengthened period of adolescence, attitudes about celibacy, etc. During National Vocation Awareness week, please pray that young people today will hear and respond to God’s call. And do your part to encourage them to consider the priesthood and religious life.

COVID-19 GREEN PHASE I Mass attendance is voluntary in the green phase until further notice. Those who are sick, do not feel safe, or who have compromising health conditions, should not attend. MASKS ARE REQUIRED, covering your mouth and nose properly, during Mass and after communion.

ADVENT WREATH CANDLES ~ The 4 Advent Wreath candles are available to be memorialized for $10 each. The First Sunday of Advent is Dec. 29th. Please call the Rectory if you are interested in remembering or honoring someone in this way. THE WORD AMONG US: Do you have a neighbor or family member who is not coming to church right now due to Covid-19 but maybe they would appreciate getting a copy of the bulletin or the booklet, The Word Among Us? We have an abundant number of the booklets each month, as we haven’t been able to change our order from Pre-Covid. Please reach out to your family & neighbors and see if they would like a copy. They are available at the entrance of Church and at the Rectory. Call the Rectory and we can leave copies on the porch to pick-up with the bulletin. OUR HOPE AND GOD’S PROMISE: The Church uses these waning November days and darker skies as the season to remind us of the last things. Today’s feast, the Solemnity of All Saints, is the centerpiece of three days that point to doctrines we proclaim each time we say the Apostles’ Creed: “We believe in the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.” And while the days and our hearts may be dark, the readings today are bright with the light of faith. John’s vision in the book of Revelation reveals dazzling angels and white-robed saints gathered in triumph around the throne of God. In the responsorial psalm we sing our longing to see God’s face, and in the second reading John writes that we are God’s children and will, in fact, see God “as he is” (1 John 3:2). This is our hope. This is God’s promise. Today we celebrate the triumph of those who already gaze on the face of God. Tomorrow we cry out for mercy with those in purgatory, who, like us on earth, still long to see God’s face. © J. S. Paluch Co.
