Who: Open to all SOI-W permanent personnel
What: SOI-W MC Ball Room Reservations (Standard Government Rate, $160.00 + Tax pernight, Special Rooms will pay extra).
When: SOI-W Ball date scheduled for Saturday 16 November 2019; room reservation link will remain open until Oct 23rd, 2019.
Where: Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina
Why: 1st come 1st served basis; only 100 Blocked rooms for SOI-W until further notice.
All reservation cancellations must occur at least 72-hours prior to arrival to avoid a one night's room and tax penalty charge. Cards will not be charged until check-in date.

North County Community Services Location: Volunteer Opportunities Ongoing - Off Base Duties: North County Community Services offers programs that support more than 75 non-profits that assist the elderly, homeless and needy families of North San Diego County. The following volunteer opportunities are currently available: Food Bank: Mon-Thursday 10-3pm, Friday 10-Noon-Volunteers help to unload and sort donated food itemsF.I.T Project- Volunteers assemble food boxes deserving children and families in the Vista Unified School District. Flex Project- This project is coordinated in conjunction with Volunteer San Diego. It falls on every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month 1800-

Animal Shelter Volunteer Location: Volunteer Opportunities Ongoing - On Base Camp Pendleton Animal Shelter Duties: The Camp Pendleton Animal Shelter is in need of volunteers! Volunteers play a very important role at the shelter and are needed to fill a variety of roles, seven days/week: Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older. Minors 16-17 may also volunteer at the shelter, but he or she MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Pregnant women may not volunteer at the shelter.Foster Care Volunteers must complete a mandatory foster care training.Volunteer shifts are flexible and available seven days/week: Hourly, Daily, Weekly, Monthly.
