SNOB PROJECT – A unified media space

Components of the Snob project…• website• magazine• Premium program• The Snob Club… are all harmoniously and strongly integrated with one another.

Almost any event that arises out of the project is supported by all branches of the project.

For example:• an article in the magazine triggers a discussion on the website;• the thoughts and questions provoked by that discussion become the foundation for lecture in the Premium Program; • the lecture itself may happen in the space provided by The Snob Club and a video recording of it may then be uploaded to the site or broadcast live.

TYPES OF CONTENT: JOURNALISTIC METHODS: THE MAGAZINE'S CONTRIBUTORS:

SNOB MAGAZINE – new journalism

Snob works on developing and supporting the

thoughtful reader who is equally interested in the informational as well as the analytic side of any raised question or subject. Among the consistently utilized formats are reports, interviews, essays, publication of the newest literature (fiction and non fiction, solely

released books), and photo essays. Aside from this, the magazine utilizes innovative publication formats. For example, a journalistic report with comments from the article's protagonist in the margins, or «open interviews,» which allow all project participants to ask questions to ask the interviewee questions via the Snob website.

Snob always posititions itself in the role of friendly journalism, but at the same time, aims to shed the light on every subject with maximum objectivity. To gather facts and information for each article, Snob journalists use solely by way of reporting («by way of actually being on scene») («методом персонального присутствия»). At the same time, the editorial team pays a lot of attention to the literary value of the article and to the potential enjoyment that a reader may feel from reading it. This is way Snob welcomes renowned essayists, journalists, writers, and editors.

Snob focuses not only on the quality of the articles but also on having a diverse range of styles and genres. This is why, among the Snob's writers are Tatyana Tolstaya, Alexander Garros, Vladimir Sorokin, Maxim Kotin, Dmitry Bykov, Masha Gessen, Michael Idov, Vladimir Paperny, and many others.

ILLUSTRATIONS AND PHOTO STORIES:

SNOB MAGAZINE — illustrations, graphic arts, design

GRAPHIC ARTS:

DESIGN:

Snob pays particular attention not only to the textual, but to the visual elements of its publication. Each issue of the magazine is, aside from all else, an art object, created by the best artists, illustrators, designers, and photographers.

The level of graphic arts in Snob has no equivalents in Russia. The magazine is packaged inside a special envelope (with convenient perforations), has color photospreads, and comes with illustrated color bookmarks. The polygraphic level of the magazine has no equivalents in Russia due to the quality of the paper, publication, and design and font choices.

In 2010, Snob received the prestigious D&AD (Design and Art Direction) award in

non-commercial organization of British association of designers and art directors (London) for its «Geographic Columns» in the category of Magazine & Newspaper Design.

Among the visual experts who work with Snob are

Francesco Carrozzini, Stanley Greene, Henry Leutwyler, Axel Martens, Anthony Suau, Ellen von Unwerth, Varvara Aliay, Vladimir Vasilchikov, Cyrill Glushenko, Alexander Gronsky, Veronika Kalacheva, Aleksey Kurbatov, Victor Miller Gausa, Arseny Neskhodimov, Pavel Samokhvalov, and Alexandra Slovik.
