Purpose

The purpose of this document is to briefly explain the SMP Products Management through theAdmin panel.

Accessing SMP Products Management

On the standard SMP admin panel Dashboard you will find the Admin Panel Menus.Moving the mouse over the menu item ³Shop´ will drop down the list of options as shown in the

figure below.

In the list of options that slides down, click on Products to go to the Product Management

Screen.

The components of the Products Management Screen are described in detail in the followingsections.

Standard Buttons:

View All ± This button is used for standard navigation purpose to bring you to the main product management screen listing out the Products Listing

Add New ± The Add New button takes the user to the Add New Product Screen which will

be described in detail later.

The Products listing lists out the existing products that you have already setup in your SMP

system.

It lists out the following details/options for each product set up in the system.

a) Product Title ± Name of the online product

b) Type ± denotes the type of the product. It could be of either

a. Digital ± One time paid online purchasable product

b. Subscription ± Recurring payment type product/service that could be paid for and

utilized by the customers for a fixed period of time

c) Link ± Provides the link to the Products Page for that particular product. Clicking on the

³Order Link´ opens the product page which lists out the product details and payment

options, in a new browser window/tab. See figure below. This product page URL is

dynamically created by SMP internally as you set the product up. You will utilize this

URL to embed the products in any number of CMS websites that you create to market

them.

d) Price - Price of each of the product item

e) Sales ± Total revenue of sales acquired by selling that specific product

f) Orders ± Denotes the number of orders placed by customers for buying that product



g) Options

Edit this Record

Takes you to the product edit screen where you can edit all the product setup

parameters

Duplicate this Record

Clicking on this button asks for a user confirmation to create a new productrecord duplicating the current product. After confirmation, the user is taken to

the add product screen with all the fields already copied from the existing product, so the user can easily add a new product duplicating an existing one.

Once the user confirms the duplication, a new duplicate record is created witha new product id, irrespective of the user saving the product details in the page

that follows.

Delete this Record

Clicking on this button asks user for confirmation to delete the current productrecord. Upon user confirmation, the product record is deleted from the SMP

system and will no longer be available in the product listing.

Product Quick Search

The Product Quick Search panel appears on the right side of the Product ManagementScreen.

In case you have numerous products set up in your SMP system, and the product listing

spans more than one page, you can utilize the quick search facility to identify a particular product you wish to operate on.

Just type in the full product name or part of the product name in the Product Title field and

click on submit. The products matching the query will be listed out in the product listing section

of the screen.

Add New (Product)

To add a new product to the system, click on ³Add New´ button on the Product Management

Screen.

You will be directed to a fresh Product Details Page where you can add your new product. See

figure 6 next page.

The following are the fields to be filled in to setup a new product in your SMP system.

a) Product Type

Specify here the type of product you would like to create

a. Digital ± One time paid online purchasable product. If your product type is

digital, you could ignore the Subscription term and Recurring Times fields which

follow.

b. Subscription ± Recurring payment type product/service that could be paid for and

utilized by the customers for a fixed period of time

b) Expire Download In?

In case of digital products, you would like to provide a link for the item from where the

customers would download the item.

³Expire Download In´ specifies the number of days the download link should be

available for the paid user for him to download, before it expires off.

Specify the value for this field in number of days - Enter 0 for subscriptions/downloads

that never expires.

c) Subscription Term

Subscription term is necessary only if your product type is subscription. This detail has

two fields ± one textbox followed by a drop down.

You specify a number value in the textbox field and in the following drop down, choose

whether it¶s going to be so many numbers of months, days or years of subscription term for the

product.

From the day of purchase up until the subscription term, the product will be active for the

purchasing customer after which he would have to renew the product purchase.

d) R ecurring Times

This field is specific only to subscription products.

After specifying the subscription term, you need to specify how many times the

subscription would be automatically recurring after the end of one subscription term

You can specify a value of 0 to this field in case you would like the product to have

unlimited recurrence until the subscription is cancelled.



e) Product Title

Specify the title for the product in this field.

f ) Description

Specify a brief description about the product you are marketing so as to inform the

customer about it.

g) Sales Page URL

If there is a sales page where users can find more information about this product, enter its

URL here.

h) Image URL

Enter the URL of the image you would like to host for the product in its products page.

The image URL can either be from an external location or from one of your own

wordpress site images.

i) Price

Enter a number for the price of the product here.

j) Currency

Choose the currency type for which the product price is set for.

k) Order Page Template

Choose the order page template from the drop down.

The default order page template provided by SMP is the Shopping Cart.

You can create your own customer product order page template through

Config Template option in SMP Admin Panel Menu

l) Product License

Specify product license here, if any. By purchasing this product, your customers are

automatically agreeing to these license terms.

m) R eturn URL

This is the link user will be redirected to when s/he successfully completes the purchase

through the specified payment gateway. Enter a FULL URL including http:// here



n) Cancel URL

This is the link user will be redirected to when the transaction through the specified payment gateway gets cancelled due to one of very many reasons. Enter a FULL URL including

http:// here

o) Payment Gateways

Here you can choose which payment gateway you would want the user to pay through, in

order to purchase the product.

You can set up your product gateways through Config Payment Gateways and they

would be listed here for you to choose from.

You can also choose User Points as a payment gateway. User Points are achieved each

time a user purchases a product from your SMP system. The award points for each

product a customer buys are accumulated in his account and you could let him purchase anew product that you set up, using this user points.

p) Autoresponder Action: Subscribe on Purchase

Choose the autoresponder list to which the customer email would be enlisted to ± upon

purchasing this product.

q) Autoresponder Action: Un-Subscribe on Purchase

Specify the autoresponder list from which the customer email would be removed from ±

upon purchasing this product

r) Autoresponder Action: Subscribe on Cancellation/R ef und

Customers¶ email will be added to the selected autoresponder lists when their purchase is

refunded for this product.

s) Autoresponder Action: Un-Subscribe on Cancellation/R ef und

Customers will be removed from the selected autoresponder lists when their purchase isrefunded for this product.

t) Display in Customer Area

Choose if you would like to display this product on the ³Similar Products´ section shown

on the right side bar of the customer panel when the customer logs in to your SMP site toview his purchase details.



u) Allow Social Discussion

Discussion is through Facebook connect platform. Enter your App-ID before you enablethis option.

Enabling this option lets the facebook connect utilities to be displayed on the productorder page.

v) Click bank Product ID

When you create a product in Clickbank and it is approved, you will see the product id (anumber). Copy that number in this field.

w) R equire Points

This is the amount of SMP award points a customer must already possess to purchase this

product.

You can specify 0 here if you would not want to put a checking condition here.

x) Award Points

Specify the SMP points to be awarded to a customer when purchasing this product.

y) Author Name

If you want order confirmation emails, that go out to customers upon purchasing this

product, to carry a different "from" name than default admin name, enter that here.

z) Author Email

If you want order confirmation emails, that go out to customers on purchasing this

product, to carry a different "from" email address than default admin email, enter thathere.

aa) Enable Helpdesk Support

Enabling this option would let the customer to raise a help desk ticket from his SMP

customer panel against this product, if he had purchased it.

bb) Enable This Product

This option lets you decide if you would like the product to be viewable by onlinecustomers or just stay held in the system from public view for the time.



cc) Download Inf ormation

Specify here the digital product download link/information or any protected information

you would like to securely provide to your paid customers.

This information will be displayed to customers who have bought the product, when theylogin to the SMP site to view their purchase details.
