In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, Saint Mary's High School students took immediate action to provide assistance to those directly impacted by the devastating storm. Aside from donating supplies, money, emotional suppport and physical labor, members of Mrs. Lipani's Spanish Honors IV class authored and illustrated books that were donated to the kindergarten students of East Elementary School in Long Beach. Students read their stories to the children and presented the gifts during a visit to the school.
