SKILLS LEARNT DURING PRODUCTION

My photography skills have improved

During the production of my music magazine my photography has improved, as I’ve had to take time to experiment with different angles and lighting whilst building up photos to choose from for the finished product.

My photo editing skills have improved

During the production of my music magazine my photo editing skill have improved, as I now know more tools and options available on Photoshop and Fireworks, for example the clone tool, which allows you to remove segments of your image and blend it in, as seen in this example from my work:

My optimisation skills have improved

During the production of my music magazine my optimisation skills have improved; by this I mean I have learnt how to improve the quality of my images on Fireworks, as well as improving the print quality, just by increasing the resolution to 300 instead of default 72, and changing the print size to the correct page measurements.

Overall during the production of my rock music magazine, I have:• learnt various technique in photo editing, as well as

acquiring better knowledge at optimising my work ready for printing at higher quality, to ensure that the magazine looked its best

• acquired a better ability at photography, as I have experimented with different angles, lighting and technique whilst aiming to achieve the best photographs possible for my magazine

• Improved my skills at photo editing and my skills with Photoshop and Fireworks in general
