What I learnt during production

By Elliot Tildesley

This is the Gradient tool. I used this to create the background for my front cover. I could have chosen from a variety of colours, but chose yellow, as this is conventional for pop magazines.

This is the text tool – I used this in order to insert text into my production. There are a variety of type tools, but I focused on the Horizontal text as this would be easiest to read and understand by my audience.

This is the lasso tool – it allows me to cut out any image from its background. I used the magnetic lasso tool most, as it is easy to use.

Move tool – The most basic tool in Photoshop, used to rearrange the positioning of objects in your production.

Other tools that I used, include:

Eraser tool – This is used to erase any waste around an image. I primarily used this after using the lasso tool.

Shape tool – This helped me add in certain shapes, such as the box for the splash. It allows me to create almost any type of shape.

Paint bucket tool – This is used to fill colouring into a shape.
