uniform really doesn\'t matter to me. 1

widens fan base and opens up to fans who dont understand singlets 1

would reduce uniform apprehension of youth and middle school kids 1

I do not think that the singlet is a must for a uniform. Kids don\\\'t usually wear singlets in practice, but they do wear

    compression tops and fight/board shorts.

    1

I\\\'m for as long as it doesn\\\'t slow down the wrestling i.e. stop wrestling for uniform problems 1

Non wrestling athletes think that the singlet is too revealing - it would draw more kids in the sport if only shorts and t shirt were

    required

    1

Would like for the shirts to be compression long sleeves \"personally feel it would help cut down on skin to skin problems\" 1

Too many students are body conscious as well as the Football and Basketball coaches using the singlet to shame students

    interested

    1

It doesn\\\'t matter what they wear. I also support a singlet, but you made it an either/or question. 1

I don\\\\\\\'t really think it will affect numbers too much, I\\\\\\\'ve coached at all levels from 1

Mainly see a problem at the middle school age, You may get a few at the H.S. age that don\\\'t like wearing a singlet, but Little

    league kids think its cool.

    1

Feel like the rule should be for Middle School and Youth only. It will increase partic ipation in younger levels. 1

there may be a chance that different uniforms will help and as such i can support a change. overall i think the singlet is used as

an excuse to aviod real work.

    1

This is a needed change. It\\\'s the single most referenced reason that kids won\\\'t wrestle in my school. Fight shorts are what

they see on TV. The kids can relate to them. This is a much needed change

    1

I don\\\'t think the singlet is a problem but if studies show it is holding kids back, I\\\'m not against modifications. Anything that isprogressive to get more student athlete participation.

    1

All of my wrestlers welcome the change. We should be polling the kids, they are the ones that have to wear them in today\'s

    society.

    1

The change in competition gear allows wrestling to stay current with the times and change with needs and demands of society. 1

I wouldnt vote YES for a rule change, but I would support any uniform rule change if it may help partic ipation 1

Increase participation in all levels and keep kids from being made fun of which is what happens many times 1

I think it may bring new(cool) attention to the sport, therefore increased participation at all levels. I\'d have to see some

examples. I would fear fingers getting caught in shorts/shirts. Or shirts riding up on kids. The fit wuld have to almost be customto work. But I\'m open to the idea.

    1

I believe it could possibly help increase participation. It may not make a difference but if it did I believe it to be worth it 1

If it will get one kid to wrestle that would be great, I still like singlets. Don\\\'t get rid of them. Give the kid a choice. It should be

an issued uniform from the school.

    1

Personally, I do not think that it will help with retention, but it would increase initial participation. If you aren\'t mentally tough

enough to wear the required uniform, then you probably will not last in this sport. I support this rule change because it will befit

our sport, but it is a sign of a weak generation;.

Middle school kids are so weirded out by their body, i have heard numerous times throughout the years that middle school

won\\\\\\\'t come out because of the singlet

    1

should be data based decis ion (ie: should have places that have tried and have shown marked improvement) 1

I don\'t personally see an issue with the current singlets. I would support a change, however I do not feel it is a necessary thing. 1

I am for anything that can gain attendance and momentum for wrestling. If this means uniform changes than I would be willing. 1

the singlet is antiquated and i have had female administrators tell me they feel uncomfortable watching students in a singlet 1

Some kids with acne etc are self conscious about their sk in. So being allowed to wrestle with a compression shirt (short

sleeved) under a singlet should be allowed at HS level.

    1

The colors must be divided just like olympic wrestling( while one partner wears a color the other wears a different color) 1

It is ok to help but this is a band aid approach when there are deeper issues that I could write a book about. 1

Increased partic ipation at MS level. In my experience, this is the number 1 reason MS boys don´t wrestle. 1

No light colors below waist!! It\\\'s makes the whole sport lokk bad when the wrestlers junk and/or underwear show thru!!

Extremely non-essential to have light or white below the waist. NOT fan friendly. It\\\'s embarrassing for the school, wrestler, sport and team!

    1

Not against but think it\\\'s sad we have to cater more to today\\\'s youth and society because of how society has changed. 1

I do not like it but would support if it got more wrestlers out. I think the kids that are worried about the singlet are also the one

that is going to quit. I am weary of this change since the singlet is part of our history but am willing to try something new

    1

Many kids of the kids i get in the High School level have never been exposed to wrestling and dont feel comfortable in the

singlet. Its the culture here where no one in the school has. My numbers are very low. The singlet is not the only reason, but a

    contributing factor.

    1

it will tie wrestling to MMA which is a rapidly growing sport in America. tapping into that potential is a great idea 1

I will always encourage the wearing of a singlet, but a good deal of wrestling now is done in the short and shirt uniform. 1

It doesn\\\'t bother me either way. I like the singlet, but to have another option for some might be nice. 1

Every other sport has jerseys that can be worn as normal clothing. It enhances pride to wear your uniform around school.

    Wrestlers can\\\\\\\'t do this.

    1

Body friendly, the heavier weights would not have to feel so self conscientious and their boobs wouldn\\\'t always be falling out,

making them feel like they have to constantly fix their uniforms and they can focus on wrestling.

    1

this is always a big reason younger kids don\'t \"join the team\" or make fun of those that do 1

It doesn\\\'t matter what they wrestle in as long as it doesn\\\'t inhibit them or their opponent. 1

The singlet rule is outdated, it doesn\\\'t make sense that fighters, jiu-jitsu, etc all can wear shorts/compression shirts but

wrestling does not. We practice in shorts/t-shirts and have never had a problem of injuries of any type due to the attire.

    1

Like having options. Coaches can choose what works best. Special nights where we could use custom singlets or fight short

    and tight top.

    1

It may get kids to try it. Once they try it, the kids that are going to stick around will probably end up wearing what everyone else

    is wearing.

The question was would I support. I don\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t have any serious objection to the singlet. I don\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t have any objection

to the shorts and compression shirt either. I think it would be just as easy to alow a compression shirt under a singlet. This is

going to cost schools a lot of money. As usual any rule change favors the big powerful schools and hurts the little schools.
