2. SOCIAL WORK INITIATIVES

i. THE KALIDAS INITIATIVE - 2012Started a movement in March 2012, which gained the support of 367 people on facebook. With the support of his peer group Shyon organised, first a Bake Sale, and then, on 18th May 2012, a music concert, through which the group raised 76,390/- which Shyon gave to Delhi Council for Child Welfare, for their orphanage Palna.

ii. KAHAANI a book for every child, to have, hold and keep 2014-2015In July 2014 Shyon started another movement called Kahaani, which gained the support of 416 people on Facebook. Shyon got both juniors and seniors from his school involved in this initiative to create books for underprivilged children. A story written by a child was picked. The illustrations were done by the children of Balwadi, a coaching centre run after school hours for underprivileged children at the Shri Ram School. Shyon raised funds with the help of his peer group to print the book. The 1500 books that were printed at a nominal cost by Prathams printer, were then distributed to 1500 underprivilged children in an NGO run school Kolkata and in Government schools in North Delhi.Shyons project Kahaani was selected by his school to be a part of the tGelf Youth Leader 2014 competition, in which he was a finalist.3. Student Council Member elected Head of Activities (elected by the Student Body after a nomination process which included an interview)Responsibilities: organise and schedule all inter-house events, organise events in conjunction with the school administrative department, contribute ideas and plans for new activities/ improving old ones, plan and organise inter-school events and ensure they are of the highest standard, uphold the values of the school, serve as a vital link between the school management and students, mentor students of all ages, ensure discipline at school assemblies, represent school as and when needed and respect and adhere to all school rules.

4. Music: Shyon has completed Piano Trinity College, London Grade 3 and Guitar Rockschool Grade 4

5. Was selected after an interview to represent his school at a Cultural Programme in Japan, Jenesis 2.0, organised and paid for by the Japanese Embassy.
