SHS BAND BOOSTERS MEETING – Tuesday, March 9, 2021 Meeting was called to order by Eric Todd at 7:02 pm. IN ATTENDANCE (As translated from the Zoom meeting) Eric Todd, Donna Alberth, Dan Alberth, Tammy Loch, Mary Wishnew, Rick Barlow, Karen Yuen, LeAnn Barlow, Mr. I, Mr. G, Alan Grimm, Sumanthi Prabhakar, Susan Poe, Machonne Williams, Prajeet Basu, Stehpanie Lubash MINUTES - Mary Wishnew – Accepted as is. TREASURER'S REPORT- Dan Alberth Treasurer’s report was submitted during the meeting and accepted as is. STUDENT REP - Prajeet Basu- The band is participating in a "house" competition for fun and engagement. Other fun things the band is doing is Return of the Pop and Peptober. UNIFORM NEWS: Nothing new to report. FUNdraising: Dine to Donate at Mama Maria on 3/10/21 11 - 10pm. At any time, students with ID can purchase a 14 inch single topping pizza for $6.00. GLS gift card schedule is on the band website for rest of school year. OLD BUSINESS – See Director Updates NEW BUSINESS – See Director Updates If you are interested in volunteering for an event, please contact [email protected]. DIRECTOR UPDATES Mr. Inendino – The musical has 17 students from the band participating in the pit orchestra. The show is 4/15/21 and the link will be posted on-line to view. Twenty one Saxons made the Honor Band. Honor band is all virtual over 3 Wednesday evenings. Six guests from various industries are being brought in for the students for exposure to different areas of the music industry. Students are finishing up their chamber groups. Mr. Graffeo – Members from Eastern IL Brass faculty are coming to speak to the students. The students are participating and watching videos of Master Class. The students are working hard to finish strong before spring break. Football will be happening in the spring but the band will not be participating in performances. Upcoming events –TBD Next Booster Meeting is Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at 7 pm via Zoom meeting. Follow the band and boosters on Facebook.
