Design Entry Guidelines

I. Each firm must complete the attached Design Submittal Form and fee paymentonline. Entry fees shall be as follows:

a. $100.00 for each member’s entryb. $150.00 for each non-member’s entryc. $200.00 for an entry + new membership

II. The Submission PowerPoint which will be provided upon confirmation of paymentwill require the following:

a. Brief description of the project, project location, project square footage andcategory of submission.

b. Proper Identification of Design Category Submittal. Please note NEWHreserves the right to amend the category at its sole discretion if it is deemedthat the project does not meet category criteria. (ie. Hotel vs. Resort)Design firms should base their category submission on typical industrystandards and minimums for each.

c. A minimum of four (4), but no more than eight (8), photographs of theproject.ü JPG in high resolution format.ü Photographs, project description and/or plans shall NOT identify the

submitters/design firm name.

ü Photographs should clearly show the design and/or architecture of thearea of the property relevant to the category in which it is entered.

ü If entering more than one category please submit different photographsthat reflect each category you are entering.

ü Please try and avoid use of advertising or marketing photographse.g.posed models, elaborate table settings, etc.

ü Please ensure that you have the appropriate copyright clearances for allphotography submitted.

ü Renderings (photorealistic or otherwise) shall not be permitted. Allphotographs must be of actual completed project spaces.

d. Floor plans and/or CAD drawings can be included as supporting materialwhere relevant.

III. Project must have been completed no sooner than January 1, 2015 and cannot havereceived a SOFHIE Award in the past.

V. PowerPoint entry deadline will be Friday, September 22, 2017 by 5pm.

NOTE: Judging will be done by an independent and acknowledged panel of industry professionals. Judging is independent and anonymous. Failure to meet any of the entry requirements will disqualify the entry. The judges’ decisions are final and awards are not required in all categories. Entry submittals will be displayed but not returned.
