Water & Wastewater Analyzers (cont.)

The Series 1870E chlorine analyzer continuously analyzes free or total chlorine, chlorine dioxide, iodine, bromine or other oxidants for water, wastewater, cooling water and other process water applications. The system features a fi eld selectable monitoring range from 0-0.1 to 0-20 mg/L and provides highly accurate low-level readings.

The Series 1770 chlorine analyzer works on the same principle as the 1870E but is designed for use with clean, stable pH waters. Its simplicity and target application reduces the need for a buffer reagent, making it even more cost effi cient, both to buy and to own.

Series CL500 and CL1000 residual analyzers are microprocessor-based and provide continuous on-line operation of measuring free or total chlorine and other oxidants in water, wastewater and process water applications. These units are standard with six adjustable alarm relays and feature dot matrix graphical display.

The bufferless Series CL1000B removes growth and odor problems often associated with the waste from chlorine instruments. Bufferless operation also reduces the cost of ownership and eliminates the handling of chemicals. The CL1000B is designed to continuously analyze free chlorine for a variety of applications. This system uses a unique three-electrode measuring cell arrangement, enabling it to measure in the parts per billion (ppb) residual range, as well as high residual ranges.

The MicroScatter™ 90° is designed to determine turbidity levels in drinking water. It is also ideal for most raw waters, condensate returns and clarifi ers. A display resolution of 0.001 and accuracy of ±2% of the reading is the result of the effi cient bubble rejection design, low stray light and high instrument stability.

• Range 0-200 NTU +/- 0.001 NTU resolution• System includes single or dual input analyzer, sensor(s), debubbler assembly and alarm board if chosen

From solid-state water meters to pre-payment systems to installation, meter reading, billing and collections,

Severn Trent Services offers a comprehensive range of metering products and services utilizing its

no-moving-parts SmartMeter™ brand of intelligent water meters.

21

Water Meters

Utilizing the proven principle of fl uidic oscillation, SmartMeter™ water meters have no moving parts. SmartMeter water meters are not affected by wear from grit and particulates, thereby ensuring accurate measurement of water fl ows throughout the entire product lifetime.

The gradual decline of metered income through failing or increasingly under-reading mechanical meters can be compensated for statistically. However, this is no substitute for the accuracy now available from modern metering techniques — which give certainty and reliability, not only assuring metered income, but also giving improved water leakage indication.

• No moving parts ensures whole life accuracy and no lost billing revenue• Unaffected by grit and particulates• Do not register air• Visual read and AMR enabled meters• Identifi es leaks to enable prioritization of repair work• NSF61 certifi ed, Measuring Instruments Directive (MID) approved and compliant to AWWA C713 standard• UK and Australian Pattern approval • OIML R49 compliant • Potable water materials WRAS listed

Non-revenue Water Detection

Progressive water utilities and authorities throughout the world acknowledge the need to effectively control and manage non-revenue water (NRW), from both water resource and fi nancial considerations. Severn Trent Services has considerable experience in NRW.

We offer the “Guidelines for the Reduction of Non-revenue Water,” a booklet that can help you to improve your own systems and your NRW performance. In developing this booklet, we have deliberately structured it to present a practical, operational perspective, rather than just another theoretical text book.

The information in the guide may be able to improve your own performance with respect to the reduction of NRW.
