Serving with Faith and Love 10 December 2018
Kia Ora, Kia Orana, Talofa, Malo e lelei, Namaste, Bula, Malo ni, Makadini, Annyoung, Witamy, Welcome,
Good News, Great Joy and a Precious Gift
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but
have eternal life.
Luke 1:30-31 And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you
will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus.
Luke 2:15-16 When the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go over
to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.”And they went with haste
and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in a manger
What is Christmas? It is tenderness for the past, courage for the present, hope for the future. It is a fervent wish that
every cup may overflow with blessings rich and eternal, and that every path may lead to peace.- Agnes M. Pharo
We are coming to the end of a very eventful year. We have had many good times, bad times, great times. We have
made some good choices and some bad choices. We are not perfect but know that God is forever forgiving and can
be comforted that he will be beside us wherever we go in life.
Kids for Kids
Kids for Kids was fun. It was my first time going with my school to a concert at night and I can’t believe my mum
came! It was the coolest thing I’ve ever been to. I loved having the chance to be up the front with Team Rain. When I
was dancing, Jackie Clarke came and put the mic up to my mouth and I started singing into it. I want to go to Kids for
Kids next time. By Raeyah, Room 4
I liked it when Nathan King and Jackie Clarke introduced us to bubblefinger and we all did it to the music and we all
had fun. By Lyla Grace, Room 4
I went with my mum to watch the show and it was so much fun. I enjoyed all of the singing and dancing. By Mary-
Ula, Room 4
Kids for Kids was funny and Jackie Clarke had a funny voice. My favourite bit was singing ‘Computer Games”. By
Taliah, Room 4
Leavers for 2018
We are sad to see them go but happy in the knowledge that they leave this school proudly, with confidence, taking
with them our St Joseph’s values of serving with love and faith. God bless our senior students.

BIG BUDDY
What is Big Buddy?
Big Buddy recruits positive male role models to mentor fatherless boys aged between 7 and 14 years. It is an organisation designed to better the lives of boys whose dads are absent, by giving them a man of good character to trust and rely on for as little as 2-3 hours a week in many cases. This quality time is proven to develop more confidence and happiness in these boys. This award-winning, secular service (meaning it has no religious affiliations) is run by dedicated professionals and practitioners who rigorously screen men from the communities we operate in. The safety and happiness of our boys is paramount and our screening program is reputedly the most discerning of any agency or club in New Zealand. Our team covers the Auckland, South Auckland, North Shore/Rodney, Waikato and Wellington regions, with expansion plans for Christchurch in 2019.
