_____________________________On The Cover______________________________One of the many vans and vehicles that MTCO Communications uses to provide the best customer service possible to our customers in the Marseilles area. MTCO Communications and Marseilles Telephone Company have been your local provider since 1987 when the Rauh family purchased the long time running Marseilles business.

Every once in awhile we like to re-introduce the magazine and the company to our readers. First of all, Connected Magazine is put together by Editors Bob Becraft and Kip DuBois with MTCO Communications. Bob and Kip have been with MTCO Communications since 1996 and 1999 respectively. Both of them have extensive marketing backgrounds with MTCO and with previous jobs. They make a good pair to produce a monthly magazine that is focused on the communities we serve.

Connected Magazine was started in May 2011. Our goal for this magazine was to connect with the community that serves our customers, thus making it possible for us to keep you informed about the great services MTCO provides. We didn’t want to spam your mailbox with offers and promotions all of the time, so we decided to print a little community magazine that is resourceful and fun to read. Flash forward and we are now into our 4th year of printing Connected Magazine. We serve three different versions of the magazine that focuses on the service areas of MTCO which are Metamora/Germantowns Hills, Marseilles and Washington. This marketing project has been resourceful for us too as we have got to meet so many great people throughout the area.

MTCO Communications has been a locally owned family business since 1945 as the Metamora Telephone Company. Over the years it has grown to add Internet and television services along with business telephone systems and paging services. We look forward to providing many more years of service to this community!

Utopia Premieres on FoxUtopia premieres on FOX on September 7, 2014. Since the dawn of time, humans have always wondered: does a perfect world exist? Now, we get the chance to build one. Will it be ultimate happiness or utter chaos? Fifteen pioneering Americans leave their everyday lives and move to an isolated, undeveloped location - for an entire year - where they are challenged to create their own civilization from scratch. With no existing power structures and limited amenities, these “pioneers” will be faced with rewriting the rules. Will they choose democracy or dictatorship? Fidelity or free love? Will they punish or forgive? Choose religion or rationalism? Share with others or hoard for themselves? What conflicts will emerge, what leaders will arise? What principles will guide their daily lives and inform their deepest decisions? As the Utopians build the new society, every decision counts. Each must try to become indispensable to the group, or risk being exiled to their former lives and replaced by potential newcomers from the viewing audience who have been vying to join. With cameras following the pioneers 24/7, viewers can watch their society unfold, both weekly on FOX and also online. As they observe the inhabitants living together and building their new existence, viewers themselves will have the chance to become a valuable and powerful asset to the community, and ultimately to question whether Utopia remains an elusive but alluring fantasy, or whether the pioneers have truly realized their dream.

FREE Preview WeekendSettle in for another HBO and Cinemax Free Preview weekend on digiMAX starting Friday September 5th and ending at midnight on Monday, September 8, 2014.

See the Season 5 premiere of Boardwalk Empire, an American drama series focusing on the 1920’sand 1930’s in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Or catch The Leftovers season finale, which takes place three years after a global “rapture,” which caused the unexplainable

disappearance of 2% of the world population.

Other weekend highlights include The

Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, The Knick, Taken 2, and documentary A Good Job: Stories of the FDNY.

Tech giants Apple and Samsung will be releasing new versions of the iPhone 6 and Galaxy Note 4. Apple is slated to release details of its much anticipated iPhone 6 on September 9, 2014. It’s rumored that Apple will be revealing the “bigger-screen iPhones” during its event next month. The new iPhone 6 will be released in two models—one with a 4.7-inch screen, and another with a 5.5-inch screen.

Samsung posted an invite on its official blog, asking consumers to “note the date” of September 3, 2014. The new Galaxy Note 4 might be revealed during its three live events held simultaneously at Berlin, Beijing, and New York.
