the Canteen! Summer is over and we will again serve wings every Tuesday. Mike is handing fry duties off to others this year after serving our members for over 7 years. We are also primed

we have multiple screens to see
your favorite team and special prices during “The Game”.
The Gun Raffle still has lots of tickets so get yours now. We still need more volunteers so if you can spare a few hours here

Commander Joe’s Comments:
Summer is almost over and we begin to get ready for fall. It has been a busy summer at the Post. We had a family day, a band at the monthly drawing, a large crowd for the Mayweather fight, several blood drives, our
monthly fish fry and breakfast on Saturdays, We are now in the process of getting Keno at the Post. This, with the State Lottery Commission is taking time but we are making progress. The Month of September will see the return of Tuesday’s Wing night and Saturday Ohio State football games. October 28th will be our Anniversary dinner. We have also taken in quite a few new members, so if you see some one you do not know make them feel welcome. As al-ways we need more volunteers. If you have a few hours a month to help your Post, please let us know. Thanks to all those who donate their time to help the Post run well.. Commander Joe
If you would like to contribute pictures/articles to
the next Newsletter, please submit by 26 October.

FRIDAY FISH FRYS
Family Day and Summer Hog Roast
I cannot overstate my appreciation
to all the volunteers and local
businesses that donated their time and money to
our First Annual Family Day on July 15th. I
would also like to thank all the members and
public that attended, and were patient with me
as this was a huge learning experience for
myself. While its regrettable we failed to adver-
tise enough, those that did make it enjoyed a
great event. After receiving feedback from
them and the community I am very glad to
announce that we plan to hold this event
annually. We will continue to build on what
worked well, as well as add more activities and
entertainment for the kids.
My goal with this event was and is for commu-
nity building and that isn’t possible without the
help of our fellow Americans. I and the entire
VFW Post 3761 graciously thank Aaron Leith
(hog roast,) also Pappy's Feed store, Christy's
Pizza Baltimore, Schaffners Ice Cream and Ace
Hardware Baltimore for their very generous gift
card contributions for our raffle.
We look forward to seeing as many
of you as possible next year.
Thank you, Hayden Kandel

Poppy Plates are now
available for hanging on
our canteen wall. Honor
your favorite veteran,
friend or business thru
your donation to our Vet-
erans Relief Fund. You can leave your do-
nation at the canteen or give it to our poppy
chairmen Dave Hard and Joyce Miller.
The Blue Plane Post
VFW Post 3761 is known
throughout the state of Ohio as
the Blue Plane post. We have
visitors all year long who come
to visit and take pictures of this
aged Navy plane brought to this
site by past post members in the early 1980’s. Today
the paint is beginning to fade and the aircraft is in need
of a cleaning and some repairs. If any of our readers
know of someone who can help us in this venture or
would like to donate time and/or funds to this project,
contact Commander Joe or canteen manager
Mike Hamilton at 740-862-4028.

ing, contact the post if you are coming. Call or
