For seniors, Star Testing week may be one of the best weeks out of the entire school year. We look forward to it for months: nding out the theme of grad night, taking our class panoramic photo, bonding with friends over muf ns and pastries, and most of all watching twenty-two seniors get hypnotized in front of the entire senior class. For an hour, the cafeteria was lled with cackles, giggles, and ts of laughter as we watched our peers do ridiculous tasks at the command of the hypnotist. While all of us enjoyed the entire show, certain moments de nitely stood out: watching Eric Severson “play the piano” with his backside, Eric Sassano and Emily Jorgens carrying on a conversation in a Martian language, and Celia Rosas’s erce catwalk, to name a few. Maia Kurland stated, “The best part about senior breakfast was having the whole grade together and watching the people get hypnotized, especially when they all had to play the piano.” But Greg Bradner disagreed, choosing instead “watching James Miller imitate Arnold Schwarzenegger.” Theodore Alper had other reasons for laughing. Alper said, “the best part about senior breakfast was watching the hypnotized people dance crazily then not remember anything.” For Shanni He, being hypnotized was the highlight of her morning, “My favorite part about senior breakfast was making a fool out of myself in front of the entire senior class.” Whatever the moment, these memories will stay with us forever.
