“A Heavenly Experience!”

What is Cradle Yoga? It is yoga performed in a hammock (a long, beautifully colored stretchy fabric

suspended from above) that feels fabulous, wrapping you in a cocoon of comfort. Have fun as you

experience all the benefits of yoga – and more. Lengthen and strengthen your entire body, targeting the core

while toning all leg, arm and shoulder muscles. This unique yoga technique has been proven to elongate your

height up to 1 ½ inches by slowly and gently opening up spaces between each vertebrae, reducing – and

often eliminating -- back pain. Inversions help to realign the spine, the body’s lifeline, as it releases calming

hormones in the pituitary gland, leaving you feeling blissfully rejuvenated, yet relaxed. Treat yourself to this

joyfully playful yoga workout, and feel like a kid again. This is the first and only location in the Flint and

Genesee County area to offer Cradle Yoga. Space is limited to 4 students, so sign up now and give yourself

the gift of a Cradle Yoga Experience!

Center-Briarwood wants you to GET MOVING and improve your health!

Stop by the office and enter your name in our drawing by September 4th!

You just might win!

Have you turned down a chance to go out with family or friends because you were concerned about

falling? Have you cut down on a favorite activity because you might fall? If so, A Matter of Balance:

Managing Concerns about Falls is a program for you.

Fear of falling can be just as dangerous as falling itself. People who develop this fear often limit their

activities, which can result in severe physical weakness, making the risk of falling even greater.

Many older adults also experience increased isolation and depression when they limit their

interactions with family and friends. A Matter of Balance can help people improve their quality of life

and remain independent.

A Matter of Balance is designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels among older

adults. Participants learn to set realistic goals to increase activity, change their environment to

reduce fall risk factors, and learn simple exercises to increase strength and balance.

Matter of Balance is an eight-week program. Classes are FREE and will begin on

Monday, October 22nd from 4:00-6:00pm Please call the office to reserve your spot!
