GENEALOGY CORNERBack in April of 1965, the Fortville Carnegie Public Library graced the pages of The Hoosier Farmer Magazine.  The article was written by Rosemary Lewis and entitled National Library Week Salute…What’s in a Library besides a Book. The article mentioned Brownsburg and Roachdale (Putnam County) Public Library collections. While nothing was written about the Fortville Carnegie Library, we had three photos in the article. ClydeDawson – Clyde Dawson in the Teen RoomJamesFlood – James Flood & Thelma StearsJackColson2 – Jack Colson & Marcia Larsen

Note from our DirectorAs we move forward in 2019, the Library will start its Strategic Planning process.  With the help of our Board, Staff and Community partners, we will craft a long range plan that will take us through the next 3 years.  To kick off this process, I attended the Harwood Public Innovators Lab with one of our Trustees, Susie Highley.  We learned about looking outward and better understanding our community and those we serve.  We cannot plan our future without being part of Vernon Township’s future.  Stay tuned for more updates as we move forward.  I look forward to getting to know all of you better.
