SEEDS: What we are aiming at?
New data services – why? Research data can be reused and shared for secondary analyses
(replication and address new research questions) Publicly-funded data should be made available to the research
community (Open data movement) Preservation and curation of research data for years to come
Initiatives on European level (EC): SERSCIDA, H2020-INFRADEV, etc.
9
SEEDS: What we are aiming at? Build on past experience – SERSCIDA
Same aim: establish new data services (preparatory work) Same instruments and methodology: assess existing funding, research,
legal and infrastructural landscape in each new partner country Same documents: develop and publish policies, procedures and guidelines Similar technical systems: New websites and technical prototype systems Build up knowledge capacity: training units and events (Workshops) Outputs from SERSCIDA can be adopted, adapted and improved on!
10
SEEDS: What we are aiming at?
Objectives Establish new data services in new partner countries Continue integration of data services in old partner countries Develop knowledge and tools related to data services Long-term benefits for national research communities Bring partner institutions into fold of an international
movement (CESSDA)
