“Summer is a fun time; Make it a safe time, too!” Summer Safety Tips for Kids and Families

Home -- it's where children grow and learn, the place where they find comfort, love and

care. It's where they can see, touch, explore and experience the world around them, so

their minds and bodies develop properly. Summer time is now here. For most children,

this means more outdoor activities. For all parents, this means being extra vigilant to keep

your child safe and healthy. Here are some tips to keep your child safe this summer.

Wear loose-fitting, comfortable cotton clothes of light color. Take frequent baths or showers with cool water. Drink plenty of water and fresh fruit juices. Keep your kids playtime indoors or in shade and preferably in the early

morning/evening.

Water Safety Never leave a child unattended around water. Always have an ADULT supervising young swimmer. Teach your child to swim at an early age.

Never Leave Children Unattended In a Car

The temperature inside a car can get dangerously hot, even in moderate weather with the windows slightly down. Kids can suffer from heat stroke causing serious injuries.

Road Safety Use a zebra crossing while crossing road. Do not jump a red light while driving. Never play on the road.
