Principles and general objectives of

Education Provide a broad general education that will assist

each individual in society to attain his/her

potential as a human being. Help the individual participate in the basic

functions of society and acquire the essentialeducational foundation for his/her development

into a productive and versatile citizen. Train the nation¶s manpower in the middle-level

skills required for national

development.



THE GOAL OF BASIC/

SECONDARY EDUCATION:

Covering the areas of broad generaleducation.Training in middle level skills,

developing for improving thequality of human life.Responding to the changing needs

and conditions of the nationality.



Secondary education (high school) continuation of the basic education

provided at the first level. It isexpanded to include learning

(general education) and training in

basic employable skills (vocational or technical education).



N ew Secondary EducationCurriculum was implemented in

1992/93. The major subject areas are

science, mathematics, technology, Filipino, English, and civics/national

culture. Technical and vocational

education was also revised and adapted to technological progress and

employment needs in recent

years.

assumes the lead role in the fieldof educational measurement,evaluation and research as ameans of providing informationnecessary to improve the state of

the education system

During the beginning of 2001, BSE had

active projects and a flagship 6-yearprogram (SEDIP)
