3.

On Saturday, Mark and his sister, Anna were going to a birthday. The two children woke up early and started to get ready. Mark ran into Anna’s room and asked, “Where is Jack’s present? I want to see it!”. Anna looked confused., and said “I don’t have his present. You were going to get it!”. “No, I wasn’t!” yelled Mark. “Yes, you were!” screamed Anna. At this time, Mark and Anna’s mom, Mrs. Jones, walked in the room. “What is all this fighting about?” she asked. The kids told her what had happened, and started to cry. Mrs. Jones had the children sit down, and told them to think of ways they could solve the problem. “What can we do?” she asked. Mark said he could just give Jack one of his toys. Anna thought she could make Jack a homemade gift. Mrs. Jones told them they could stop at the mall on the way to the party. The kids didn’t know what to do. What would you do?

2014

Constitution Day is when we celebrate the signing of the Constitution. It was signed on September 17, 1787. Every year, we remember our founding fathers and our freedoms. The Constitution is a document that explains all the rights and laws of the people in our country. It also explains how the government will work. It was signed by thirty-six men a long time ago. One of those men was George Washington, our first president. The Bill of Rights is the first part of the Constitution and includes our freedom of speech and religion. This year, we will celebrate the 227th birthday of the Constitution.

Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are my favorite. My mom and I make one to put into my lunchbox every day. To make one, you will need peanut butter, jelly, bread, and a knife. First, you get our two pieces of bread and lay them on the counter. Then, you open the peanut butter. Using your knife, scoop out some peanut butter and spread it on both pieces of the bread. Wipe off your knife. Next, you need to open the jelly. Sometimes, jelly jars can be very hard to open so you might want to ask your mom or dad for help. When it is open, take your knife and get out some jelly. Spread it on one piece of bread. Make sure you cover the bread. Lastly, put the two pieces of bread together. Now, you have a yummy PB&J sandwich to enjoy!

There are four seasons: winter, spring, summer, and fall. Fall is also called autumn. It is the season between summer and winter. The beginning of fall is in September every year. The leaves begin to change colors. They turn from green to yellow. red, brown and orange. Then, they fall off the trees. Fall is also the time when animals begin to get ready for winter. They start gathering food, and storing them for when they hibernate. Hibernation is when animals sleep or stay inside caves or dens during the cold weather months. During the fall, animals have to get food together so they have enough to eat. During this season, lots of crops like pumpkins, corn and beans are ready to be picked. The weather gets cooler and the days get shorter. Kids start wearing jackets and long sleeves, instead of shorts and t-shirts. A lot of people like to visit pumpkin patches and take hay rides during the fall. Fall is a beautiful season.
