he Second Coming Prophecy is an episode in the life of Jesus that appears in all three synoptic 

gospels: )atthe* +:%-%, )ark %:%-+& and /uke +%:0-1.2%32+3 In this episode Jesus e4plains tohis $postles the concept of his return from 5eaven, to *here it is believed he ascended to sit at

the !ight 5and of 6od. his episode forms the basis for the #hristian belief in the "econd

#oming of #hrist.

$ccording to the 6ospel of )atthe*:

Jesus ans*ered: 7Watch out that no one deceives you. For many *ill come in my name,

claiming, 8I am the #hrist,8 and *ill deceive many. 9ou *ill hear of *ars and rumors of *ars, but

see to it that you are not alarmed. "uch things must happen, but the end is still to come. ation*ill rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. here *ill be famines and earth;uakes in

various places. $ll these are the beginning of birth pains.23
