THE PPLT NEEDS NEW MEMBERS
Our next Parish Meeting will be on Wednesday 22nd April at 7.30 pm in
the Multipurpose Area of the School, and it is at this gathering that we
will together select new members for the Parish Pastoral Leadership
Team. EVERYONE IS INVITED AND WELCOME TO COME WHAT-
EVER YOUR INVOLVEMENT IN THE PARISH IS.
The PPLT Guidelines, which were adopted in November 2013, state that
members shall be appointed for a two year term, and that half of the members
will retire every year, beginning in 2015.
The way the Guidelines state that new members will be appointed is by each
of our Parish Teams nominating candidates at the April meeting, every year.
The current PPLT is made up of ……………………..
Ex-Officio members - Parish Priest - Fr Laurie
Pastoral Associate - Lys Crowe
Parish School Representative - Peter Whyte
Education Team (3 representatives)
- Anne-Marie Hyde, Maria Boelen and Maree Taverna
Finance Team (2 representatives)
- John Bruitzman (and a vacancy due to there being no
Parish Fundraising Committee established yet)
Worship Team (2 representatives)
- Narelle Mulcahy and Jim Bourke
Pastoral/Outreach Team (2 representatives)
- Sally Cooper and Margaret Carr
Members who are retiring are - Maria Boelen, Narelle Mulcahy, Sally
Cooper and Margaret Carr. So at the April meeting, the Education Team
will be asked to select one new representative, the Worship Team, one repre-
sentative and the Pastoral/Outreach Team, two representatives, from within
their Teams, to replace them.
We ask all Parishioners to please think about whether you would like to be
on the PPLT and/or who you might be able to ask to consider their availabil-
ity.
We ask you to refer to your copy of the Parish Pastoral Plan which includes
copies of the full Guidelines for the PPLT and also our Parish Teams Model.
Both of these documents will give you a clear description of the way the Par-
ish and the PPLT operates, and the responsibilities/expectations of PPLT
members. (Copies are still available in the Church foyer.)

Census Cards Sincere thanks to all who completed our Census

completed a Census card yet, there are some availa-
ble at the table in the porch of the Church. We
would be most grateful if you would fill out a card
and return it to the Sacristy before you leave the

STM Trade Directory It has been two years since our Parish School pub-

the School and the wider Parish community in the
form of a printed directory. If you are interested in
promoting your business or service, please contact

Easter Thanks Once again we thank all who contributed in so
many ways to our Easter celebrations. Particular
thanks to those (Liturgy Team) who set up the
Church, the Altar Society (Flowers etc) and our
volunteers for the various liturgical ministries. It
was a great team effort and I felt that the prayerful-
ness of the Triduum reflected the good work done
by so many people.

PAGE 4 SECOND SUNDAY OF EASTER
Baptisms These are held on the 1st & 3rd Sundays of each month at 11:15 am or at any of the Parish Masses on the 2nd, 4th
or 5th Sundays. A compulsory preparation night for parents takes place on the first Tuesday of each month in the
Parish Community Centre at 7:30 pm. Children to be baptised, and their families, are then invited to a Welcome
Mass prior to Baptism where they are introduced to the Parish Community and welcomed by them. In order for
this to happen, preparation needs to begin at least 4-6 weeks before the Baptism, with a call to confirm parents’
attendance at the Preparation Night.
When children of school age are to be baptised an extended preparation time is required. It is important to re-
member that Baptism is about the initiation of a child into a community of Faith or a community of Disciples.
There is no such thing as a ‘private’ Baptism... it is something done by the whole Church.
