ANGEL TREE Thanks to all who helped with the Angel Tree this year. From the Roanoke Catholic students who colored the angels, all who so generously brought gifts and to those who came to wrap, thank you so much! Your generosity is much appreciated and has helped to brighten the lives of those less fortunate.

Come and be a part of it! VIRTUS TRAINING “Protecting God’s Children” is an educational program that helps you recognize, prevent and respond appropriately to child abuse. Whether you are a parent, grandparent or anyone who has a child in your life, this program is a must. While VIRTUS training is mandated for all adult volunteers that have contact with children or youth, our goal is to educate as many people as possible about child abuse. This free training is open to all adults who are 18 or older. “Protecting God’s Children for Adults” will be offered at the following area locations on the dates noted:

Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Salem Sunday, January 6 1-4pm Our Lady of Nazareth, Roanoke Saturday, January 12 10am-1pm

To register or check additional dates for training sessions, go to www.virtusonline.org. Call Barbara in the church office for more information.

HELPING THE HOMELESS Our next week for hosting Interfaith Hospitality Network is scheduled for January 13-20. However, to make this happen we need someone with a warm heart to coordinate this vital ministry. We host IHN guests approximately 4-5 times during the year, and we need new coordinators for the IHN Ministry within OLPH. Tara O’Rourke, our IHN Coordinator for the past four years, has stepped down, and we need one or more parishioners willing to step in to keep our doors open. If you are willing to become more involved in helping those less fortunate get back on their feet, please contact the office at 387-0491 or [email protected] or you can contact Tara O’Rourke at 389-8316 or email [email protected] for more information. Please prayerfully consider this ministry.
