Science Film Festival 2011

Pada awalnya, Science film Festival diinisiasikan

oleh Goethe Institut Thailand, dengan tujuan

mendorong rasa penasaran serta ketertarikan kaum

muda terhadap iptek. Lebih jauh lagi, estival ini

berharap dapat menunjukkan bahwa hiburan dan

pembelajaran dapat digabungkan secara eekti

melalui ilm dan media televisi.

Festival ini dilihat sebagai proyek payung yang

menyatukan acara pendidikan iptek, sebuah akses

kepada inisiati pengetahuan serta sebuah perayaan

kebudayaan akan aneka ragam pendekatan terhadap

dunia komunikasi iptek.

Kesuksesan pelaksanaannya di Thailand mendorong

kelanjutan estival ini di negara-n egara Asia Tenggara

lainnya. Pada tahun 2010 estival ini dilaksanakan

di 4 negara ASEAN termasuk Indonesia. Di Jakarta

saja estival ini memikat lebih dari 13,000 anak-anak.

Tahun ini, untuk pertama kalinya, estival ini akan

diadakan secara serempak di Thailand, Kamboja,

Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam dan Filipina dengan

perkiraan pengunjung sebanyak 120,000 orang. Hal

ini menjadikannya acara terbesar tingkat dunia di

kelasnya dalam hal pengunjung.

Di Indonesia, estival ini akan berkeliling ke Ambon,

Bandung, Gowa, Jakarta, Jayapura, Mataram,

Pontianak, Salatiga, Samarinda, Sorong, Surabaya

dan Yogyakarta.

The Science Film Festival, originally initiated by

the Goethe-Institut Thailand, aims to encourage

young people to be curious and to have an interest

in science. Furthermore it wishes to demonstrate

that entertainment and learning can be combined

eectively through ilm and the television media.

The estival is seen as an umbrella project that

brings together a science education event, an access

to knowledge initiative and a cultural celebration

o dierent approaches to the world o science

communication.

The successul implementation in Thailand

encouraged the continuation o the estival in other

Southeast Asian countries. In 2010 it took place in

4 ASEAN-countries, including Indonesia. In Jakarta

alone it reached more than 13,000 children.

This year, or the irst time, the estival will take placesimultaneously in Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia,

Malaysia, Vietnam and the Philippines with an

estimated 120,000 visitors, making it the largest event

o its kind worldwide in terms o audience igures.

In Indonesia, the estival will travel to Ambon,

Bandung, Gowa, Jakarta, Jayapura, Mataram,

Pontianak, Salatiga, Samarinda, Sorong, Surabaya

and Yogyakarta.
