For ten years now Lithuania along with other European countries has been benefiting from possibilities to study, participate in projects and enhance its professional knowl-edge through programmes on offer to EU citizens. Every year more than one million EU citizens participate in educational, vocational training and nationality promotion programmes financed by the European Union. The Socrates and Leonardo da Vinci programmes which started their activities in 1998 have had a huge impact on the changing educational system of Lithuania. Teachers and students of secondary and voca-tional schools and universities have participated in projects and exchanged visits and have shared experiences with col-leagues and peers from other European countries.

In the European Communities’ communiqué Lifelong Learn-ing – to enhance Knowledge, Creativity and Innovations edu-cation and teaching are defined as fundamental factors of economic and social change. Flexibility and employment guarantees which are necessary for the creation of more and improved work places are only possible when all citizens are given the possibility to obtain and enhance their general skills through lifelong learning. Lifelong learning contributes to development of creativity and support of innovations and provides the possibility to participate in economic and social situations.

When EU financed educational programmes entered a new phase, a new organization – the Education Exchanges Sup-port Foundation – was established in Lithuania. It is the big-gest institution performing the function of education sup-port administrator in Lithuania. It was established on the basis of the former Socrates and Leonardo da Vinci founda-tions by transposing the best practices and implemented in-novations. Our aim is to help Lithuanian citizens benefit from opportunities offered by international cooperation and to administer programmes and disseminate the results of their activities.

The Education Exchanges Support Foundation is an umbrella organization uniting the Lifelong Learning Programme and

many other programmes, projects and initiatives aimed at promoting international cooperation.

Projects and individual mobility activities which were fi-nanced throughout the decade greatly influenced not only project participants, but also institutions. In order to encour-age project promoters to prepare qualitative and creative projects, evaluate initiatives that help improve activities of in-stitutions, evaluate the work of vocational guidance special-ists and encourage them to use innovative vocational guid-ance and counselling methods and disseminate information; this summer, the Education Exchanges Support Foundation announced the Quality Competition. 65 institutions and 71 individuals submitted their applications and competed in ten categories:

We are happy to introduce a publication that contains pres-entations of teaching and learning initiatives from the win-ners of the Quality Competition of 2008. Project promoters and participants of individual mobility received the biggest “grant” – valuable experience, knowledge and skills of work-ing and learning in an international environment. I hope that their experience will inspire others to generate new ideas, ini-tiate projects and implement innovations in their activities.

The project was well-managed, anticipated results were achieved and mobility was implemented. The project output was good and qualitative. The received grant was assimilat-ed to the full. Project activities and terms were continuously revised, each visit as a part of the project was evaluated and the progress of the project was discussed. Dissemination of the project results was carried out both in the course of the project and after its completion. Material prepared during the project was integrated into English lessons and other subjects. School excursions were demonstrated for guests and are still currently demonstrated.

Young people’s Europe – a comparative socio-educational study of young people at the beginning of the 21st century

The project Young people‘s Europe – a comparative socio-educational study of young people at the beginning of the 21st century was implemented in six countries of the European Union. Pupils and their teachers had the opportunity to be-come familiar with the traditions and culture of each coun-try as well as visit schools, share experiences and introduce their own country and its cultural peculiarities. The final re-sult of the project – the newspaper ComPro News published for three years and virtual school excursions – comprehen-sive and innovative material for teaching English, geogra-phy, economics and ethics. When implementing the project, pupils used information and communication technologies: they partook in on-line discussions, prepared Power Point presentations and used the Microsoft Publisher and Movie Maker programmes when creating the newspaper. During project meetings pupils worked in international groups and communicated in English.

The topic of the project – traditions, leisure, the criminal and economic situation in Europe, loss of nationality and study and work possibilities abroad – is very important to each European citizen. As many as 15 pupils, who partici-pated in the project implementation group, went to study in Great Britain after their visits to foreign countries.

The dissemination of the project via TV, the press and the internet in cooperation with local authorities guaran-teed the possibility for every member of the community to become familiar with the project and its results.

It is still very pleasant for me to recall activities of the project “Healthy Body – Healthy Mind” in primary classes. I and my classmates greatly benefited from this project: lessons be-came more interesting, we learned a lot about healthy living, performed several experiments and organized the litter collec-tion campaign near the Talkša Lake. Many events and lessons were organized outdoors near the Svilė Springs, in museums, or even in my classmates’ gardens.

Thanks to the project we became familiar with computers for the first time at school. We learned to create and use elec-tronic mail, exchanged electronic letters with pupils abroad, learned much about their life and even learned some foreign words and phrases.

Now I am in the seventh form and, regrettably, I cannot participate in the project.

In the course of the three years the activities of classes that participated in the project “Healthy Body – Healthy Mind” at-tracted both pupils’ and teachers’ attention. Although the project is over, its activities continue: a methodical group of primary classes decided to organize integrated lessons in all 16 primary classes. For this purpose contracts with city museums, Children’s Clinics, etc., were concluded.

The project was implemented successfully. In Norway the project was acknowledged as one of the best projects in the country in 2004–2005 and it was presented during the Comenius Week in Germany in September 2005. The ben-efits of the project to the institution and the process of edu-cation of the institution were vast. The project was totally integrated into the school’s curriculum and cross-subject integration of the project is still in progress. Results of the project were noticed by students of Šiauliai University who perform pedagogical practical training and watch integrat-ed lessons. The project results and experiments are being used by both pupils and students even after the completion of the project.

The aim of the project Outdoor Learning, Healthy Body – Healthy Mind is to encourage pupils to learn about healthy living, become more active and care more about healthy nutrition. The project activities encouraged replacement of traditional classroom lessons with integrated activities outdoors and helped improve the variety of teaching by us-ing information technologies, revising lesson plans and or-ganizing integrated lessons. The project activities are being continued (even after completion of the project) in Šiauliai Children’s Library Šaltinėlis, the Šiauliai University Museum and other museums of the city (a contract for continuing activities has been concluded with the Aušra Museum), the Centre of Young Naturalists on the Salduvė Hill, the Amphi-theatre, the Talkša Lake, the Youth Park Beržynėlis, Kamanos Wetland, Kurtuvėnai Regional Park and the pupils’ gardens.

The project was integrated into the school’s curriculum and cross-subject integration was performed. The project gave rise to the tradition for project classes to finish their school year outdoors near the Svilė Spring and the Bubiai Mound. This tradition still continues after the completion of the project. We are proud of our partners – the Šiauliai Vocational Training Centre and the Šiauliai Childern’s Clinic which are also actively performing various activities.

The ideas of the project were integrated into national and local projects “I am becoming happier – because I am healthy”, “Climate change and I” and “Water in my Life”.

Our Living Environment: Today – Yesterday – Tomorrow Project participants exchanged information on the en-

vironment that they live in, their grandparents lived in and their children will live in. After starting with the presenta-tion of our own rooms, houses and cities we came to the conclusion that the common home of all of us is Europe and we are the authors of Europe’s future. Simple activities (exchanging photos and descriptions) that were planned in the beginning grew into virtual exhibitions, videocon-ferences, presentations of visions of the future and active participation in local community life. Creative activities of the project – competitions of artistic works, photos, ideas and essays, fashion shows, presentation of old traditions, concerts and many others – gave project participants an ex-cellent opportunity for self-expression and implementation of ideas. On the project website http://ole.mok.lt, presenta-tions from five countries are merged into one – a presen-tation of successful European cooperation which includes tolerance to economic, social and cultural diversity; and a new approach to learning through cooperation.

The project was beneficial not only to pupils but also to us – the teachers. It helped us deepen our geographical, historical and ethnographic knowledge about other states participating in the project and it helped us to improve our IT skills. It empha-sized the necessity to learn foreign languages and enriched our vocabulary of English. And, of course, it gave us a chance to ex-perience good emotions and the joy of communication and co-operation and encouraged a sense of duty and responsibility.

This project provides an excellent opportunity to break false stereotypes about cultures, traditions, life and people of other countries participating in the project; learn more about the past, present and future not only in our own but also other countries; and contribute to the creation of the future. Tommy Nilson, a project participant from the Falkenberg Adult Training Centre (Sweden) said that it was the first time his institution had participated in the project financed by the European Union. According to Tommy the project provided an excellent opportunity to become familiar with colleagues and not only work with people from other countries but also learn more about colleagues from his own institution. When introducing their local situation to people from other counties project participants learned more about the problems they en-counter.

- Training for various target groups was organized ac-cording to the adopted curriculum. Further training and counselling is planned in the future too.

- Three types of questionnaires were created to clarify learners’ needs and employers’ attitudes towards learners. It enables better coordination of the needs of the two groups and enables more flexible organization of training.

- Project management was performed by the following group of people: the project coordinator, an accountant and a representative from administration. This demonstration of teamwork improved project coordination and allowed project activities to be combined with the usual work of the institution.

- Project partners carried out systematic evaluation of project activities (progress) among employees of their own institutions. Active communication and cooperation was implemented using distant learning methods.

Awareness of needs for continuing learning / motivation & sensitising – measures

The project activities strengthen the image of the or-ganization: the interest of the community in the activities of the Adult Training Centre has considerably increased. The project has increased the motivation of adult learners and encouraged them to learn foreign languages and contrib-ute to the implementation of the concept of Lifelong Lean-ing.

The project helped expand international cooperation: learners became familiar with the experience of other EU countries. Employees of the institution improved their for-eign language skills during project meetings, communicat-ing via the internet and at language courses organized in the Adult Training Centre.

The project encouraged the search for coherency be-tween Lithuanian and foreign systems of education. The learning partnership project contributed to the preparation and implementation of new informal curricula: art, compu-ter literacy, German, Lithuanian for foreigners, communica-tion skills, career planning and basics of business.

information about the inDiviDual Jurgita Stankaitienė has worked in Kaunas Vaižgantas

Secondary School for 20 years. She has 16 years experi-ence as a teacher of primary classes. She actively par-ticipates in projects for the organization of the school’s process of education and any change of contents of education. Since 2003 she has participated in a group for creation and development of a book for assessing efforts and results of pupils of primary classes. From 2002–2005 she worked as coordinator of the Preventive Children’s Day Centre Vaižgantukas. Her trainees are active par-ticipants and winners of various competitions. Jurgita Stankaitienė shares her experience with other teachers of the City and County of Kaunas. Since 2006 she has participated in the artistic expression group of primary school teachers of the City of Kaunas.

She follows innovations of education and prospects of learning. Insufficient pupils’ self-evaluation, incapabil-ity to control their emotions and weak motivation en-couraged her to search for training courses on this topic.

tion in Learning Situations in Malta surpassed all expecta-tions. Participants of the course were taught various active methods (e.g. how to build cooperation skills, encourage a sense of safety and confidence and use methods of creation and drama). The teacher was happy to share experience not only within her school but also with teachers from other towns. She advises potential participants of in-service train-ing to improve their foreign language skills, carefully choose training courses and be more self-confident.

Ilona Šedienėinformation about the inDiviDual

English teacher Ilona Šedienė, started her pedagog-ical career in the sphere of primary education. Having decided to retrain she finished her studies in the Insti-tute of Foreign Languages at Vilnius University. Encour-aged by the director of Dieveniškiai Rytas Secondary School of the Šalčininkai District and having assessed the needs of learners of English, she chose the training course offered by INTERACTING S.L. in the City of Bangor (Northern Ireland). In January 2006, Ilona Šedienė sub-mitted her application to the EU Socrates Programme Coordination Support Foundation to participate in the Comenius 2.2 programme and was awarded a grant.

exPert commentsDissemination activities of the candidate are praise-

worthy: she delivers speeches, organizes seminars, pre-pares teaching material and publishes articles. Ilona Šedienė also got involved in project activities and par-ticipated in the Comenius and Grundtvig contact semi-nars. The experience of the candidate became a source of inspiration for other teachers in preparing a practical seminar – St. Patrick – and discussing possibilities for such seminars in the future while seeking to promote active methods of education.

comments of the inDiviDualA two-week course “Making Sense in Ireland: a Practical

Course Bringing the Stage to the Classroom” surpassed the expectations of participants of the course to acquire practical skills in using elements of a play to increase pupils’ motiva-tion. Organizers of the course based their teaching on inter-action which was used all the time and in all situations, i.e. during lessons, introductory activities and leisure activities. Teachers managed to create energetic interaction among people of different cultures and of different age groups. The participant acquired useful experience in promoting the concept of lifelong learning and enthusiastically shared it with her colleagues and teachers from other schools.

Rūta Binkienėinformation about the inDiviDual

Rūta Binkienė has worked as an English teacher since 1999. For the last five years she has been working in Kaunas Humanitarian Primary School. The main rea-sons for her participation in in-service training are her willingness to enhance her qualifications and acquire useful knowledge, skills and experience. Furthermore, she sought to improve her conversational English and familiarize herself with innovations in using language and also make personal and professional contacts with teachers from various countries of Europe. Moreover, the participant is fond of travelling. She likes to visit for-eign countries and familiarize herself with the culture and daily life of local people.

courses in which the candidate participated in 2005 and 2007. The candidate’s activity in preparing methodical publications and initiating international partnership projects is praiseworthy. A widespread external and internal dissemination of information proves the huge impact of mobility activities on the candidate’s person-al and professional development and their influence on the institution and trainees.

courses in England and Wales: in Bristol (2005) and in Llangollen (2007). Participation in these training courses was very useful in all aspects – she obtained new profes-sional knowledge, improved her conversational English and made useful contacts that developed into long-term cooperation. She also had an opportunity to travel in Eng-land and Wales and become familiar with the culture, his-tory, traditions and values of these countries.

She wishes potential participants of in-service training to be open to innovations and be curious and active. Al-though cultural differences sometimes might cause some confusion, she wishes everybody to be tolerant and well-wishing to others.

Berta Bertužytėinformation about the inDiviDual

Berta Bertužytė obtained the qualification of a French teacher at Vilnius Pedagogical University and for a long time was teaching French in secondary schools.

Since 2001 Berta has been working at Klaipėda Col-lege where she has acquired the qualification of a lec-turer. Ms Bertužytė participates in the curricula analysis group of the faculty and college, drafts and develops different curricula and is a co-author of a French text-book which is being prepared for publishing.

Since 2000 she teaches French at Klaipėda Ąžuolynas Gymnasium and participates in the activities of the group of French teachers.

In 2005 she participated in the training course Motivation and Strategies of Learning in France (Vichy Cavilam). This training course met both personal and professional expectations of the participant and the needs of the institution to the full extent, supported the teacher’s career plans to improve and evaluate her professional qualification and effectively use the latest teaching methods and information technologies.

exPert commentsIt is praiseworthy that the participant sees the benefit

of in-service training both in respect of her professional activity and in respect of the trainees. Most probably the experience gained through in-service training is being successfully used in professional activity of the partici-pant. The initiative of the participant to share good prac-tice and willingness to develop through the participation in international projects is highly appreciated.

in-service training as part of the Grundtvig programme helped seek a better quality of teaching and learning. Par-ticipation in the training course impelled a critical look at the applied teaching methods and encouraged the search for new methods. Improved knowledge about other coun-

tries and cultures and the acquired understanding of new as-sessment methods helped motivate the learners. This in-service training course satisfied the participant’s continuous learning needs and motivated her to participate in other developmental activities. Acquaintance with Romanian teachers encouraged the preparation and implementation of the bilateral interna-tional project Music of Schoolchildren with Timisoar Carmen Sylva Pedagogical Lyceum of Romania.

information about the inDiviDual In 1962 Irena Čeikauskaitė graduated from Vilnius

University where in the Faculty of Philology she ob-tained the qualification of a specialist in Roman and Greek philology. Currently she works as an English teacher in the Faculty of Agrotechnologies at Vilnius College. Irena is an active participant of projects within the framework of the Grundtvig and the Leonardo da Vinci programmes, participates in in-service training activities.

The participant has published many dictionaries and a lot of teaching material for the development of the skills of professional and conversational English. She is not only an active participant of national and in-ternational conferences but also organizes the events herself. She organized the international conference The Impact of National Cultures on the Economic Growth.

The teacher decided to participate in the Grundtvig in-service training activities because she thinks that continuous development is one of the main responsi-bilities of a teacher.

In August – September 2007 Irena Čeikauskaitė participated in the in-service training course in Valet-ta (Malta). The topic of the course – English Language Methodology Course for Non-Native English Language Teachers.

vidual mobility programme is worth being awarded for the qualitative implementation of the activity. She suc-cessfully uses the methodological knowledge and skills acquired during the in-service training in her daily work and by doing so she improves both the quality of her own work and that of the institution and the learners. The participant is not only interested in her own profes-sional development but is also ready to share the ac-quired experience with colleagues and learners. In 2004 Mikas Balkevičius obtained a Bachelor’s de-gree in educology and the qualification of a teacher of ethics at Vilnius Pedagogical University. In 2006 he ob-tained a Master’s degree in public administration (EU policy and administration) and in 2008 was conferred a Master’s degree in economics at Mykolas Romeris Uni-versity. Since 2005 Mikas Balkevičius works as a project manager at Vilnius College which is the biggest non-uni-versity institution of higher education in Lithuania.

Mikas Balkevičius became interested in the Grundtvig programme after he started working at Vilnius College. The programme named under the famous Danish edu-cologist F.S. Grundtvig attracted him because of the val-ues that it promotes, which is openness, flexibility and possibilities for lifelong learning.

Lifelong learning is a particularly important aspect of the Grundtvig programme as it encourages continuous interest in and search for scientific and cultural knowl-edge and helps apply the obtained knowledge in eve-ryday activities. In October 2006 Mikas Balkevičius par-ticipated in an in-service training course in Hungary. The topic of the course was Quality management in educa-tional institutions.

New ideas about mutually beneficial cooperation of en-terprises and educational establishments were identified. I brought back with me some valuable material (presentations, activity reports, etc.) that would be useful in my daily work. Discussions with the host institutions were focussed on the dis-cussion and comparison of the Lithuanian and French training of GI specialists. The discussions were an opportunity for me to improve my professional language skills. New opportunities to take part in joint projects together with the specialists of the science of geography from other countries opened up.

The experts are of the opinion that the project should be considered a model project in all aspects as throughout the project period all goals were achieved and a very inten-sive and efficient dissemination of the project information was carried out. The variety and scope of the project out-comes and the definite further use thereof is what makes the project exceptional. The new ideas on the training of the GI specialists will form the basis for the improvement of the quality of their training. The project involved various educational establishments representing different levels of education and business representatives as well as the gov-ernmental surveillance institution, thus encompassing all of the active stakeholders in Lithuania. The cooperation that started as a result of the project is of a defininely sustain-able nature.

The aim of the project was to draft a general strategy providing for the training of specialists in geography infor-mation (GI) management in Lithuania and to develop drafts of interrelated curricula for the Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree and PhD.

As a result of visits to the project partners, 34 partici-pants of the project accumulated a lot of information that was helpful in drafting the study plans and course modules by taking into consideration the actual need of specialist knowledge of the employing institutions. In cooperation with educators, trainers and project management special-ist, in-depth analysis of the structure and the content of the existing curricula for GI specialists has been performed and ways and opportunities to further develop different curricu-la have been envisaged. As a result of implementation of the mobility project under the Leonardo da Vinci programme, uniform awareness of the GI specialist training problems and the need for cooperation has been achieved, a model for the cooperative distance education of GI specialists has started taking shape, a curriculum for distance education in GI has been drafted, a uniform strategy for the system of in-service training of GI specialists has been developed, partner organisations have started offering in-service train-ing courses in the area of GI.

The visit was of great importance for my professional life as I upgraded my professional knowledge, was introduced to new ideas, presented with some material necessary for the training, established new contacts that are of benefit for my company. The most impressive thing during the visit to Italy was the train sorting secondary waste that is usually placed in the vicinity of primary schools, thus encouraging small children to start sorting waste and aiming at educating their parents because children talk about such things at home.

During the visit to Italy I had a chance to talk and exchange experience with the managers responsible for the quality of waste management about quality management and environ-mental protection measures undertaken in the EU member state. Experts are of the opinion that the project outcomes are innovative and their dissemination strategy is really crea-tive. As a result of the project, such documents of key im-portance as the environmental awareness raising strategy and actions plans have been drafted and positively rated by both the Ministry of Education and Science of the Re-public of Lithuania and the Bauhaus University in Weimar, Germany. As part of the newly developed plans and project dissemination activities various events were held at dif-ferent educational establishments during which creative measures were applied with the aim to better impart the key messages onto the children, teachers and other partici-pants.


The Lithuanian Communal Services and Waste Manage-ment Association which is the initiator of the project in-volved eight waste management business representatives from Lithuania into the project the representatives of which together with some specialists of vocational education and training went to visit some Italian organisations to gain experience which could be applied actively in the area of public environmental awareness raising. The project partici-pants gained knowledge about a number of interesting and useful environmental awareness raising project, local waste management systems and observed the functioning of the new type of waste removal technologies.

Upon return to their institutions the participants of the visit drafted environmental awareness raising strategies and action plans that can be adapted and used by all en-tities in Lithuania engaged in similar economic activities. The project helped the partners from Lithuania to actively join the process of organising educational and awareness raising campaigns, draft corporate environmental policies, internalise some additional information on how to organise training, establish new contacts and refresh the long-stand-ing relations.

Experts are of the opinion that this project is worth being rewarded for its quality, because all the goals of the project have been achieved and the project outcomes and the ex-perience of the project participants was effectively used to upgrade the curricula of educational establishments and in choosing their future direction. Thanks to the successful co-operation of the educational establishments and business representatives the training of the students of hotel admin-istration and management has been improved in line with modern tendencies in the hotel business, particularly in line with the principles of sustainable tourism.

Eleven students of tourism and hotel administration and management from Vilnius, Kaunas and Utena colleges went to study at foreign partner organisations to upgrade their tourism and hotel administration skills and competencies.

During the period of upgrading their practical skills in foreign hotels the participants of the project had a chance to experience the practical aspects of the implementation of the principles of sustainable tourism both at a hotel and in the surrounding environment (energy efficiency, envi-ronmental protection). Moreover, all participants gained new knowledge, practical experience in hotel administra-tion, improved their foreign language skills, gained more self-confidence, endurance and perseverance.

Projekto metu sukurta metodinė medžiaga skirta atlik-ti praktinio mokymo kokybės vertinimą pirminio ir tęstinio profesinio mokymo įstaigoje, numatant būdus, kaip reikėtų tobulinti būsimų specialistų praktinį mokymą, atitinkantį Europos Sąjungos strategines nuostatas bei besikeičiančius šalies ūkio poreikius.

Atsižvelgiant į projekto partnerių šalyse pasirinktą koky-bės užtikrinimo praktiniame mokyme įvairovę, buvo sukur-ta metodika praktinio mokymo kokybės užtikrinimo gerini-mui. suformuluota praktinio mokymo kokybės užtikrinimo koncepcija ir modelis.

Metodinės medžiagos dalyje „Praktinio mokymo ko-kybės vertinimo kriterijai ir rodikliai“ pateiktas praktinio mokymo kokybės vertinimo kriterijų ir rodiklių, informa-cijos šaltinių rekomendacinis sąrašas. Konkrečių praktinio mokymo kokybės vertinimo kriterijų, rodiklių, informacijos šaltinių parinkimas kiekvienoje profesinio mokymo įstaigo-je priklauso nuo nacionalinių profesinio mokymo sistemos ypatumų ir konkrečios mokymo institucijos patirties.

Ši metodinė medžiaga naudinga mokymo institucijoms, siekiant įvertinti tiek praktinio, tiek teorinio profesinio mo-kymo kokybę bei kuriant ir tobulinant vidinės kokybės užti-krinimo sistemą organizacijoje.

Projektas gali būti laikomas pavyzdiniu dėl kokybiškų, visoms tikslinėms grupės naudingų rezultatų pasiekimo, atsakingos projeto valdymo komandos ir jos pažiūrio į pro-jekto naudą organizacijai. Projektas buvo neabejotinai nau-dingas Lietuvos ir kitų Europos šalių profesinio rengimo ins-titucijoms. Vertintojų nuomone, projekto rezultatai pasiekti reikiamu laiku ir yra aktyviai naudojami praktikoje. Projektas skirtas biomedicininės fizikos mokymo pro-gramos ir mokymo priemonių paruošimui bei jų sklaidai visuose mokymo lygiuose. Projekto tikslas – suteikti medi-cininį išsilavinimą įgyti siekiančiam jaunimui ir dirbančiam medicinos personalui naujos kokybės žinias, būtinas nau-jausių gydymo ir diagnostikos metodų bei biomedicininės aparatūros įvaldymui, siekiant užtikrinti jų konkurencingu-mą darbo rinkoje.

Projekto metu buvo surinkti ir testuojami biomedici-ninės fizikos moduliai ir programos. Projekto partneriai iš Latvijos, Lenkijos ir Vokietijos rinko medžiagą. Testavimas atliktas Vilniaus ir rygos universitetuose. Atsižvelgus į tes-tavimo rezultatus ir ekspertų pastabas parengti teorinių bei praktinių kursų aprašai.

Nauji biomedicininės fizikos mokymo moduliai ir pake-tai, sukurti, naudojant naujas informacines technologijas. Projekto įgyvendinimo laikotarpiu sukurtas biomedicininės fizikos mokymo modulis studentams ir medicininiam per-sonalui suteikia galimybę savarankiškai įsisavinti CD ir In-ternete pateiktą medžiagą. Atskirais moduliais pateikiama informacija lengvai integruojama į bet kurį bazinį studijų kursą kaip papildoma ar iliustracinė medžiaga. Visa tai pa-lengvino šioje srityje dirbančių dėstytojų darbą.


Biomedicinos fizika įvairiuose profesinio mokymo lygiuose: nuotolinio mokymo link

Vertintojai teigia, kad projektas sėkmingai įgyvendin-tas – jo metu pasiekti kokybiški ir aktualūs rezultatai. 2004 m. ir 2006 m. Lr švietimo ir mokslo ministerija skyrė premi-jas projekto įgyvendinimo laikotarpiu parengtiems vadovė-liams. Projekto naujoviškumas atsispindi sukurtoje projekto mokymo medžiagoje. Ji sudaro prielaidas ateityje pereiti prie nuotolinio mokymosi ir gali būti įsisavinama laisvai pasirinktu metu. Svarbu tai, kad sukurti produktai tapo pa-grindu, įgyvendinant kitą bandomąjį projektą – „Nauja nuo-tolinio mokymo forma: skaitmeninis kompendiumas“, kurio metu buvo realizuotas nuotolinio mokymo tikslas.

Projekto metu sukurti nauji inovatyvūs produktai, skir-ti dėstytojų ir profesijos mokytojų kompetencijų ugdymui e. mokymosi srityje. Projekto metu parengtas kompetencijų vertinimo modelis kartu su vartotojo vadovu ir kompeten-cijų vertinimo įrankiai. Kompetencijų vertinimo įrankiai ir vartotojo vadovas prieinami projekto svetainėje registruo-tiems vartotojams.

Nuotolinio mokymosi kursų paketas – šešeri nuotolinio mokymosi kursai anglų ir partnerių nacionalinėmis kalbo-mis – buvo parengtas individualizuoto mokymosi principu. Šiame kursų pakete pateikiama besimokančiųjų kompeten-cijų vertinimo ir modulinio mokymosi medžiaga, skirta spe-cifiniams ir individualiems mokymosi poreikiams.

Projekto idėja buvo perkelta į naujus kontekstus ir nau-jus sektorius – dotacija skirta dviems Leonardo da Vinci pro-gramos naujovių perkėlimo projektams – „EVETE 2“ ir „Tea-chers in Action“.

Pažintinio vizito metu gauta gausi medžiaga apie Anglijos ikimokyklinio ugdymo turinio sudarymą pa-dėjo rengiant metodines rekomendacijas, teikiant kitą metodinę pagalbą Lietuvos vaikų darželių moky-tojams. Puikiai įvertinta ir pradėta naudoti Lietuvos ikimokyklinio ugdymo įstaigose Anglijos patirtis tėvų informavimo apie švietimą srityje.

Pažintinio vizito metu įgytos žinios apie ugdymo turinio planavimą, mokyklų strateginių dokumentų (planų, ataskaitų) rengimą bei įsivertinimą Anglijoje naudingos priimant sprendimus bei teikiant metodi-nę pagalbą mokykloms. Taip pat padėjo suformuoti nuostatas dėl ugdymo turinio sudarymo, mokyklos kokybės vertinimo, susipažinti su tėvų įtraukimo į švie-timo veiklą ir informavimo formomis.

cijos anglų kalbos mokyme vidurinėje mokykloje“. Šio vizito metu dalyvė susipažino su Kipro švietimo sistema bei kitų dvylikos šalių atstovų dalyvavusių šiame vizite švietimo sistemomis. Aplankė įvairaus lygio ugdymo įstaigas, dalyvavo praktiniuose užsiėmimuose įvairiose mokyklose. Daug patirties dalyvė pasisėmė iš parodo-mųjų pamokų, diskusijų su mokytojais, taip pat ypatin-gai daug pažintinio vizito dalyvė išmoko stebėdama pamokas specializuotose kalbų mokymo klasėse.

Šis pažintinis vizitas buvo puiki galimybė patobulin-ti profesinę dalyvės kompetenciją. Naudinga patirtimi, įgyta pažintinio vizito metu, buvo pasidalinta su mo-kytojais ir kitais švietimo darbuotojais seminarų metu, rengiant anglų kalbos vadovėlius. Pamokų metu pra-dėta taikyti nauja metodika: keturių kalbinės veiklos rūšių derinimas, pažangiau organizuojama popamoki-nė veikla. Pradėta taikyti vieninga vadovėlių parinkimo sistema, parengta ir išdalinta įvairi metodinė medžiaga, su pažintiniame vizite dalyvavusiais kolegomis iš Kipro, Prancūzijos, Airijos, Italijos, Ispanijos, Suomijos ir Čeki-jos pravestas bendras forumas internete.

vizitas tema „Švietimo kokybė“, kurio metu buvo lanko-masi įvairių tipų Haarlemo mokyklose, vietos valdžios įstaigose, mokytojų rengimo ir kvalifikacijos tobulinimo bei mokyklų veiklos priežiūrą vykdančiose institucijose. Taip pat šio vizito metu buvo sudarytos geros sąlygos susipažinti ne tik su vizito organizatorių, bet ir su vizito dalyvių patirtimi.

Pažintinio vizito metu įgytos žinios padėjo generuo-ti idėjas, kaip įgytą patirtį mokyklų veiklos vertinimo (išorės audito) ir įsivertinimo (vidaus audito), švietimo kokybės tobulinimo srityse pritaikyti dalyvės tiesioginei veiklai. Pačios naudingiausios ir įmanomos pritaikyti mūsų šalyje yra tokios idėjos: susitarimų kultūros plė-tojimas, stiprus įvairių švietimo veiklų ir kasdienės prak-tikos ryšys, vietos bendruomenės, mokinių tėvų įsitrau-kimas į mokyklos veiklą, pagalba atliekant mokyklos veiklos įsivertinimą, refleksijos, kaip priemonės įrodyti savo kompetenciją, panaudojimas, planavimo įgūdžių ugdymas nuo ankstyvojo mokyklinio amžiaus.

Erasmus mobilumas suvokiamas plačiai ir kompleksiškai, įvardijami mobilumo tikslai apima: naujų mokymosi metodų ieškojimą, diegimą, naujų požiūrių, tarpkultūrinių įgūdžių ir ge-bėjimų formavimą, kurie leistų drąsiai priimti tarptautinio vers-lo iššūkius, užsienio kalbos žinių tobulinimą bei gerosios patir-ties sklaidą. Universitetui Mokymosi visą gyvenimą / Erasmus programa yra vertybė, veiklos ir aplinkos dalis. VGTU pasiektas studentų ir dėstytojų mobilumo lygis turi grįžtamąjį poveikį ne tik universiteto bendruomenei, bet ir regiono visuomenei.

Santykis tarp išvykusių ir atvykusių studentų studijoms VGTU kasmet mažėja ir 2007−2008 yra mažiausias nuo VGTU dalyvavimo Erasmus programoje pradžios, be to, gerokai lenkia bendrąjį europinį santykį. Atsižvelgiant į dėstytojų mobilumo veiklos rezultatus ir kokybę, VGTU jau kelerius metus patenka į EK skelbiamą „ToP 20-tuką“ (2006−2007 m. VGTU buvo 9-oje vietoje).

Dėl Erasmus mobilumo VGTU turėjo galimybę vykdyti atitinkamas veiklas – kiekvieno fakulteto bakalauro pako-poje užtikrino užsienio kalba vykdomas studijų programas, plėtė jas į antrąją studijų pakopą, socialiai integravo studi-jų programas, atliko anglų kalba vykdomų programų ko-kybės analizę, atnaujino studijų turinį, organizavo bendrą studijų programą kartu su užsienio universitetu, dalyvavo tematiniuose projektuose, intensyviose programose. Taip pat organizavo kultūrinę programą, konsultacijas, organiza-cinę-praktinę pagalbą, sukūrė ir plačiai išplėtojo studentų mentorių sistemą, organizavo tarptautinius renginius.

Mobilumo veiklų rezultatai, efektyvumas ir nauda anali-zuojami, vertinami, jeigu reikia, revizuojami, taikant aiškius kriterijus ir principus. Tai įgyvendinama per mobilumo vei-klų pasiekimų stebėjimo sukurtus mechanizmus, europinės dimensijos studijų procese diegimą.

Patobulinta studentų kompetencijų vertinimo siste-ma įvedant konkretesnius vertinimo kriterijus bei būdus. Bendradarbiavimas su minėtais universitetais leido teikti pasiūlymus pertvarkant ŠU struktūrą. Bendradarbiavimas su UrL ir AU paskatino naujų studijų programų rengimą bei mokslinius tyrimus.
