How to start using the material ?

Step 1: First match your existing architecture and business application landscape to one of

the available customer scenarios

– Example 1 : Customer is using SAP ERP without a data warehouse solution (= Landscape 2)

– Example 2 : Customer is using SAP ERP & non-SAP business applications without a data warehouse

solution (= Landscape 3)

Operational Reporting

Direct connectivity towards SAP ERP and non-SAP based business applications can be established with Crystal Reports 2011

Starting with SAP ERP 6.0 Enhancement Package 05 (Innovations 2010) the Transient Provider allows to leverage a BEx query

based on a classic InfoSet and in that way expose operational data via a common interface

Crystal Reports for Enterprise is able to leverage the connection towards Universes , SAP HANA , Sybase IQ, and the Transient

Provider

Self Service Reporting

Self Service reporting capabilities with Web Intelligence are enabled by leveraging the Transient Provider technology for SAP ERP

and the semantic layer in combination with the custom data warehouse, SAP HANA, or Sybase IQ

Data Visualization

SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards can leverage the connection towards Universes, Live Office, and BI Web Services to leverage

data from the operational systems, custom data warehouse, Sybase IQ , and SAP HANA

Analysis

SAP BusinessObjects Analysis, edition for Microsoft Office is able to leverage SAP HANA’s analytical capabilities and provide users

these capabilities inside Microsoft Office

Direct connectivity towards SAP ERP and non-SAP based business applications can be established with Crystal Reports 2011

Starting with SAP ERP 6.0 Enhancement Package 05 (Innovations 2010) the Transient Provider allows to leverage a BEx query based on a classic

InfoSet and in that way expose operational data via a common interface
