We’re going green, and you can too! For Parents & Guardians
Here are some simple questions and answers to help you talk to your child about going green.
Why is it important to go green?
Answer: Going green makes your neighborhood—and the planet—clean and healthy by reducing trash and pollution.
What are some ways you can go green and help the planet?
Answers: • Recycle • Donate your old clothes and books • Turn off the water when you brush your teeth • Take shorter showers • Turn off the lights when you leave a room • Put on a sweater instead of turning up the heat
Try these activities with your child to reinforce Samuel Sasquatch’s lessons.
• Before you throw something out, ask your child if it can be recycled. Then ask him or her to put it in the proper bin.
• Help your child make the bread clip monsters in this book.
• Go on an expedition! Search your house for old books, clothing, and other things you can donate to charity instead of throwing away.
• Time how long it takes your child to take a shower. Then encourage him or her to beat the record!
