“God’s secret plan, as I have briefly described it, was revealed to me, unknown to men in former ages, but now revealed by the Spirit to the holy apostles and prophets. It is no less than this: in Christ Jesus the Gentiles are now coheirs with the Jews, members of the same body, and sharers in the promise through the preaching of the gospel.” This great day in the life of the church, tells us more than the jealousy of a threatened king, the ardent search of the wise men from the east, and their discovery of the Savior and Mary His Mother. The event has allowed so many rich traditions to develop to enhance our faith. The number of visitors with three gifts for royalty, priesthood and eventual anointing in death, the star directing them like a GPS, and the humility of these rich visitors coming before the infant. The message to use Paul’s words is ‘no less than this’. I am included as a coheir, I have life in the Lord because He is my Savior. I am sent, like them on a different route to bring my experience of Jesus Christ to others. It is no less than this. May I offer the gift of self, the richness of my faith, and travel the journey with others in this new year.

Please join us for a mini-series of conferences on “A PATHWAY TO LIFE”. Do you love your life?
Or are you simply trying to make it through each day? Are you planning your days, months and
years, more than you are living them? This series will be exploring some of the secrets of truly
enriching and loving our daily lives. Sr. Danielle Marie Baran, CR, Pastoral Associate of Church of the
Resurrection, will be facilitating these sessions.
We will be meeting on January 9th, February 13th and
March 12th at 11:00 AM to 12:00PM in

Il disegno misterioso di Dio sull’umanità ora è pienamente svelato: a chi accoglie il Verbo fatto carne viene donato il potere di diventare figlio di Dio. L’uomo è chiamato a divenire partecipe della stessa filiazione divina del Verbo: ad essere nel Verbo Incarnato figlio del Padre. E il Padre genera nel Verbo Incarnato anche ogni uomo e in lui vede e ama ogni persona umana. È la suprema rivelazione della dignità di ogni persona umana, della singolare preziosità di ogni uomo.
SHED BAD HABITS IN THE NEW YEAR
Bad habits are sinful
inclinations acquired through repetition. Unless we overcome them, they come between us and God and can destroy our peace. Working to overcome
our bad habits puts us on the path to true holiness. Identify the root. It sounds simple, but recognizing what causes us to sin repeatedly is the rst step to overcoming the behavior. That doesn’t mean it’s easy to do. It can be uncomfortable to look at our failings, but change won’t come without courage.
Ask for help if you need it. Replace a bad habit with a good one. Once we understand what is behind our
bad habits, we can replace them with new and healthy ways to deal with the underlying issue.
If we overeat or drink too much when stressed, for example, we can adopt exercise or meditation to
cope instead. Eliminate triggers. Make it easier to cure bad habits by avoiding the conditions that nurture them. Do you want to avoid eating junk
food? Don’t have it around you at home or at work. Want to change a gossip habit? Avoid the people
with whom you gossip. Change your environment to change your behavior. Find good influences. It may
not be necessary to lose your old friends, but consider nding new ones who already live the
way you want to live.

“El misterio de Cristo no fue manifestado a las generaciones pasadas, pero ahora ha sido revelado por medio del Espíritu a sus santos apóstoles y profetas. Este misterio consiste en que también los paganos participan de una misma herencia, son miembros de un mismo Cuerpo y beneficiarios de la misma promesa en Cristo Jesús, por medio del Evangelio.” Este gran día en la vida de la iglesia nos habla de los celos de un rey que se sintió amenazado, la apasionada búsqueda de los magos de oriente y del descubrimiento del Salvador y María, Su Madre. El evento ha permitido que multitud de ricas tradiciones se desarrollen para agrandar nuestra fe. Los tres sabios con sus regalos destinados a un rey, sacerdote y hombre mortal, la estrella dirigiendo como GPS, y la humildad de estos ricos visitantes presentándose ante el infante. El mensaje, para usar las palabras de San Pablo, consiste en lo siguiente: que estoy incluido como coheredero, que tengo vida en el Señor porque El es mi Salvador. Soy enviado, como ellos, en una ruta diferente para traer mi experiencia de Jesucristo a otros. No es menos que esto. Ojalá pueda yo ofrecer el don de mí mismo, la riqueza de mi fe, y que pueda yo andar la jornada con otros en este nuevo año.

El Sacramento de Bautizo solo se celebrara una vez al mes los domingos.
Los Bautizos en Español se llevan acabo después de la misa de 12:30pm y en Ingles a las 2:00pm.
LAS PROXIMAS FECHAS SON: Enero 12 - Celebrado en Ingles
Enero 19 - Celebrado en Español *Por favor acérquese a la rectoría de la
Parroquia por lo menos un mes en adelanto antes de planear el bautismo.
RETIRO DE UN DÍA PARA PADRES EN DUELO
El retiro para padres en duelo,
está programado por el Ministerio Emaús, para el sábado, 1 de febrero de
9:30am a 7:30pm en St. John-Visitation Pastoral Center en el Bronx.
El retiro es para padres que han sufrido la muerte de
un hijo a cualquier edad, por cualquier causa, sin importar hace cuanto tiempo. La reunión de duelo es coordinada por el la Oficina de Family Life de la arquidiócesis, que proporciona una serie de estos
retiros anualmente en varios lugares de la arquidiócesis en ingles y español.
El retiro del 1 de febrero será en español. St. John-Visitation Pastoral Center
