THE MOST HOLY TRINITY

Masses will resume on the weekend of June 13th and 14th. As we stated there would be some changes to the way we celebrate mass. The first being is we can only seat 100 people in the church per mass. In order to do this we will be taking reservations starting Monday morning (June 8th) at 9am. You can call the parish office at (909) 981-8110 or email me directly at [email protected]. Please include which mass you would like to attend, your name, number of people, telephone number and email address. We will send you a confirmation email on Friday with additional information regarding guidelines for the mass.

It is still recommended that those 65 and over, those that have health issues or simply those of you who do not feel comfortable being in a public setting remain home and view mass online. For those of you choosing this option, we will offer distribution of communion for you in the Adoration Chapel for ½ hour after each mass finishes.

We know this is new and very different but we hope with your patience, and understanding we will all work together to make St Joseph home again.

GOSPEL MEDITATION - ENCOURAGE DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF SCRIPTURE June 7, 2020 The Most Holy Trinity A well-choreographed dance can be truly inspirational. Each movement and step are interconnected, each contributing a piece of the unfolding artistic story. The beholder is caught up in the rhythms, music, and gestures, realizing that none are dispensable and all are necessary. The same is true of the Divine Dance of the Trinity. Each Person plays a part, using unique gestures and movements that are connected to the other Divine Partners. They tell a story of love. Every movement and step is born of love and flows on into eternity. The Divine Dance never ends. God the Creator powerfully, yet with gentle love, leads. Creating and recreating, birthing and sustaining, He dances with the compassionate incarnate Son, guided by the breath of the Holy Spirit. They are three distinct Persons but move as One. On one hand, the cascading flow of their Presence appears motionless, yet on the other, flows and moves with effortless atten-tion. They share one heart, one goal, and one purpose and invite all of creation to join in their dance, their joy. The energy of the Trinity flows through all created things. It is a dance of the heart, not of the mind. It has to be experienced, not dissected, and contemplated, not understood. We stand in awe of the Divine Dance and find ourselves watching in amazement all that God creates and sustains. The dance continues in the majesty of a mountain, the power and wonder of an ocean, and the vastness of the universe. It moves in the cry of a newborn infant and in the soul of one who has been forgiven. It flows in the cry for justice and in the wounds of the oppressed. It circles through the changing of seasons, the cycles of birth and death, and the wisdom that one acquires when they love God. The Dance never ends. Its movements and rhythms go on forever. The Trinitarian Dance sustains all things, endures all things, and brings hope. You are invited to dance. Don’t just watch as if you were simply a spectator. Join in the dance and move as they move. ©LPi

LA SANTÍSIMA TRINIDAD

St Joseph Catholic Church | 5

Gloria Dios Padre Creador, Gloria a Dios Hijo redentor y Gloria a Dios Espíritu Santo Santificador. Amen.

Dear Parishioners, I know you must have been as excited as I was when you heard that public masses would resume starting on June 13th. This excitement for me soon changed to, how do we do this? As much as we would like it to remain the same, we know in this time it is not possible. We will still have to practice social distancing, we will still need to wear masks, and we will still need to use hand sanitizer. The look and feel of mass will be different as we will need to adhere to state and diocesan directives. We don’t know exactly what they are at this time as we are awaiting official directives and guidelines from the Diocese but what I do know is that we will adhere to these directives and make St. Joseph church a safe, holy and orderly environment for everyone who is comfortable in attending. We will also continue to have masses online for those of you who are not comfortable in attending and wish to remain at home. We will continue to serve you in whichever way you are most comfortable. The first step we are taking in the reopening process is to open the parish office, starting Monday, June 1st. This too will be slightly different to start. We will open but by appointment only. Appointments can be made by calling the parish office. You will be given directions when you make an appointment but the basic directives will apply. Sanitize your hands before entering the building, wear a mask and practice social distancing while in the building. We also know that some are choosing not to wear masks, we understand and respect your right but please know we will exercise our right to refuse service due to non-compliance. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the opening of the office, please feel free to call me. In regards to reopening the church, as soon as we receive the official guidelines and directives we will let you know. We thank you for your support and patience during this time. May God Bless you all and I can’t wait to see you all again soon! WHILE YOU WERE AWAY

St Joseph Catholic Church | 7

Dear Parishioners, While you were away we kept busy with continued repairs and maintenance to the parish. These repairs were already approved and budgeted for before the pandemic. We tackled not one or two but four leaks in the parish roof. The first was in the St Cecilia music room (the upstairs loft where are parish choirs rehearse), the air condition well (where are A/C units are housed), the south walkway of the church (this was a leak that sprung up while we were closed), and the last one ,which we have been working on for a couple years. This one has been giving us problems but we think we got it. One more water test to go and we should be ready to seal up the ceiling and move forward with the repairs. We are hoping to get this done before your return but there is chance we might not make it but rest assured we will still be able to have mass in the church, nothing is going to stop us! Our volunteer maintenance ministry (Henry Corral and Rude Vera) not only helped upkeep the landscaping of the parish but helped with fixing lights, repairing fences, making new collection baskets and the list goes on, we don’t know what we would do without their helping hands. Dave Banker our volunteer IT person, along with Henry Corral upgraded the wiring in the parish office so we can get a new phone system in the parish office, as our current system is approximately 20 years old and hanging on by a thread. The new phone system will be installed shortly and with a little hard work and research we were able to do this with no price increase to the parish! We also are in the process of redesigning the parish patio, to make it more affordable yet still functional. We will keep you updated and present you with the new plan as soon as we get them. And finally thanks to some generous donors we are not to far off from repaving and restriping the parish parking lot. Hopefully we will get there soon so we can move on to finishing up some small landscaping projects on the church grounds. Our hope is to have all the landscaping on the parish grounds match the church to help with reducing landscaping prices and reduce water usage. The areas we are looking at are the front and side area of the parish hall, the area in front of the Religious Education building and the parish office. Keep those DDF pledges coming.! Remember everything collected after we meet our goal goes straight back to the parish so we can get project like these done. We want our parish looking great when we celebrate 100 years in 2022! We thank you once again for your continued support! We have always known, even before this pandemic that together we can do anything!

Time to Update Your Parish Information

We have begun reaching out and making calls to you, our parishioners but we are finding that we have many wrong numbers.

We are asking that you either send us an email or give the office a call to verify/update your address, phone number, and email.

We appreciate you working with us and helping to making us a better parish!
