Pandemic Protocol Update As this pandemic continues to blossom, we find it our responsi-bility to remind you that we are in this together. It is our obliga-tion as Christians to love and protect one another.
Some may say, “I don’t feel 100 percent today, but I really want to go to Mass and receive the Eucharist, I will be okay.” ---- Is this decision unselfish or Christ-like?
If you know you have been exposed to Covid-19, are not feeling well, or are experiencing even the slightest symptoms of any virus; this is a serious matter that cannot be looked upon light-ly. You must stay home. We as individuals, have a duty to re-spect the dignity of each person’s life that we may come in con-tact with, as we venture out of our home.
There is still much unknown about this virus. It knows no boundary of age and can make people deathly ill. To date it has taken over 200,000 lives in America alone. What we do know is that it is going to take all of our cooperation. We must unite as children of God by doing our part to spread His love not the vi-rus.
We thank you for wearing your masks and using the social dis-tancing when you are out and about and staying home when you know you or a family member is not feeling a hundred per-cent. Please join us in prayer and acts of kindness to beat this potentially deadly virus. Let us share the unselfish and abundant love of God.
Come Holy Spirit, please embrace each of us with your wisdom to make respectable Christ-like decisions and protect us from all evils. Amen.
Construction Traffic Update Due to the construction that is taking place to remodel the par-ish house on Marietti Way and Vinewood Way, we are asking everyone to kindly enter the church parking lot via Vine Avenue only. Marietti and Vinewood Ways will be used for construction vehicles only, even on the weekends, when we can return to outdoor Masses. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

Actualización del Protocolo Pandémico A medida que esta pandemia continúa floreciendo, tenemos la responsabilidad de recordarles que estamos juntos en esto. Es nuestra obligación como cristianos amarnos y protegernos unos a otros.
Algunos pueden decir, “no me siento al 100 por ciento hoy, pero realmente quiero ir a Misa y recibir la Eucaristía, estaré bien.” ---- ¿Es esta decisión desinteresada o parecida a la de Cristo?
Si sabe que ha estado expuesto al Covid-19, no se siente bien o está experimentando los más mínimos síntomas de algún virus; este es un asunto serio que no puede tomarse a la ligera. Debes quedarte en casa. Nosotros, como individuos, tenemos el deber de respetar la dignidad de la vida de cada persona con la que podamos entrar en contacto al salir de nuestro hogar.
Aún se desconoce mucho sobre este virus. No conoce límites de edad y puede enfermar de muerte a las personas. Hasta la fecha, se ha cobrado más de 200.000 vidas solo en Estados Unidos. Lo que sí sabemos es que se necesitará toda nuestra cooperación. Debemos unirnos como hijos de Dios haciendo nuestra parte para difundir Su amor, no el virus.
Le agradecemos por usar sus máscaras y usar el distanci-amiento social cuando está fuera de casa y quedarse en casa cuando sabe que usted o un miembro de la familia no se siente al cien por cien. Faith Enrichment Study This Fall!
On behalf of the St. Rose Adult Bible Study team, we would like
to invite you to join us for an online (using Zoom) faith enrich-
ment study beginning this fall!
Jesus: The Way, the Truth, and the Life
is a 10-week video study program and book. Anchored in the life
of Christ as presented in the Gospels, this study explores the
entirety of Jesus’ life—who He is, what He is really like, what He
taught, what He did for our salvation, and what all of this means
for us as Catholics today.
Jesus: The Way, the Truth, and the Life will be offered
at two different times:
Tuesdays from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. beginning Sep-tember 22 and ending December 8 (with two break weeks)
Wednesdays from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. beginning September 23 and ending December 9 (with two break weeks)

Pray for Vocations
There are six words we should clearly fix in our minds. These six words form the foundation of God’s therapeutic process for all worrywarts: WORRY ABOUT NOTHING, PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING.
Don’t let worry drain you of your joy, especially if it is something you can’t change, something you are not responsible for, or something we are unable to control. All this needs to be changed from your worry list to your prayer list. Give each wor-ry-one by one-To God. The more you practice this, the more exciting it is to see how God will handle those things we cannot.
Remember too, to pray for our priests and those who are con-templating a call to the priesthood.
Reza por las Vocaciones
Hay seis palabras que debemos fijar claramente en nuestra mente. Estas seis palabras forman la base del proceso terapéu-tico de Dios para todos los que se preocupan: NO SE PRE-OCUPEN POR NADA, ORE POR TODO.
No deje que la preocupación le quite la alegría, especialmente si es algo que no puede cambiar, algo de lo que no es res-ponsable o algo que no podemos controlar. Todo esto debe cambiarse de su lista de preocupaciones a su lista de oración. Entregue cada preocupación, una por una a Dios. Cuanto más practique esto, más emocionante será ver cómo Dios manejará aquellas cosas que nosotros no podemos.
Recuerde también orar por nuestros sacerdotes y aquellos que están contemplando un llamado al sacerdocio.
TODAY’S GOSPEL REFLECTION: TRUST
Keys hold great significance for those who carry them. They represent the trust and authority of the owner when given to another person. We may give our house key to a trusted friend to take care of our matters while we are away. We may give keys to someone responsible for maintaining or working in a particular building. Keys to vehicles are given to people who have proven themselves responsible drivers. The readings to-day focus on this kind of trust—the trust that conveys authority and responsibility. In the first reading, the symbol is specifically that of a key; but the second reading and the Gospel also speak of trust and leadership as they refer to the earthly church that Jesus established.

REFLEXIÓN DEL EVANGELIO DE HOY: CONFIANZA
Las llaves son de gran importancia para quienes las llevan. Representan la confianza y la autoridad del dueño cuando son entregadas a otra persona. Quizás demos la llave de nuestra casa a un amigo de confianza para que la cuide en nuestra ausencia. Quizás damos las llaves a alguien responsable del mantenimiento u obras de un edificio en particular. Las llaves de vehículos se dan a personas que demuestran ser conduc-tores responsables. Las lecturas de hoy se enfocan en este tipo de confianza, la confianza que confiere autoridad y responsabi-lidad. En la Primera Lectura, el símbolo específico es una llave, pero en la Segunda Lectura y en el Evangelio se habla de con-fianza y liderazgo ya que se refiere a la Iglesia terrena que Jesús estableció. Grow in Faith Crecer en la Fe
OUR PATRONNESS: ST. ROSE OF LIMA
When Isabel de Flores was born in Lima, Peru, her godmother said that she was "as beautiful as a rose." She took that name at the time of her confirmation and years later, when at last her family became convinced that she did not aspire to marriage, she adopted the name of Rose when she entered the Third Order of St. Dominic. As a Dominican tertiary Rose lived at home, dedicating herself to prayer, daily work, and the care of the poor well into the wee hours of night. She also helped sup-port her family by gardening. Her life of prayer and penance was exemplary; not only did she contemplate God in creation, she built a personal house of prayer, an oratory, in her garden. One room in her house became a hospital where she could take care of the sick and those who flocked to her.
As great a saint as she was, her life was marked by sacrifice and spiritual anguish. She died at thirty-one, becoming the first Latin American to be canonized; subsequently she was de-clared the patron saint of Latin America. Her feast day is this Sunday, August 23rd.
NUESTRA PATRONA: SANTA ROSA DE LIMA
Cuando Isabel de Flores nació en Lima, Perú, su madrina dijo que era "hermosa como una rosa". Tomó ese nombre en el momento de su confirmación y años más tarde, cuando por fin su familia se convenció de que no aspiraba al matrimonio, adoptó el nombre de Rosa cuando ingresó en la Tercera Orden de Santo Domingo. Como dominicana de nivel terciario, Rosa vivió en casa, dedicándose a la oración, al trabajo diario y al cuidado de los pobres hasta altas horas de la madrugada. También ayudó a mantener a su familia con la jardinería. Su vida de oración y penitencia fue ejemplar; no solo contempló a Dios en la creación, construyó una casa personal de oración, un oratorio, en su jardín. Una habitación de su casa se convirtió en un hospital donde podía cuidar a los enfermos y a los que acudían a ella. Por muy santa que fuera, su vida estuvo marcada por el sacrifi-cio y la angustia espiritual. Murió a los treinta y un años, convir-tiéndose en la primera latinoamericana en ser canonizada; pos-teriormente fue declarada patrona de América Latina. Su fiesta es este domingo 23 de agosto.
