Jesus offers a hard lesson regarding wealth and possessions in today’s Gospel. The rich man whom he encountered could not part with his possessions as a condition to becoming a disciple of Jesus. Would our response be the same as the rich man? Do we place our trust in our money and possessions instead of trusting in God’s generosity? Do we seek security in our possessions? Good stewards realize that their possessions must not possess them, lest those possessions block their relationship with the Lord.

It was a day illed with fun and a true sense of community, making it possible to present all the various ministries that make up this wonderful parish of ours. It was with this fair that we were able to meet new people and welcome many who were interested in becoming part of our community. It is only the beginning of one of the many community events happening at our parish and are looking forward to many more to come. Sandwich Sunday and Clothing Drive Next Sunday,October21st is Sandwich Sunday. We invite our community to this beautiful ministry to feed the hungry. We will be gathering at 10:00 a.m. in our Parish Hall to make lunches and all are welcomed to help. We are in need of the following items: individually packaged chips and cookies, bot-tled water (16.9 l. oz.) and monetary donations. These items can be taken to the rectory any time during the month. We also have a clothing drive every Sandwich Sunday. Clothes can be dropped off (only) at the parish hall between 10:00 and 11:30 a.m. on Sandwich Sunday. El Programa The Edge se reune los lunes de 6-8 pm en el Salon Parroquial. Es programa para jovenes de Middle School, en las edades de 11-13, y les ensena sobre la biblia y temas actuales. Tambien tenemos juegos para mantener a nuestros jovenes entretenidos y felices. Ellos comparten platicas y emociones con otros jovenes de su edad. The Edge es una buena manera de motivar a los jovenes a mantener a Dios en sus vidas y a la vez continuar hacia su preparacion de Con irmacion despues de que salgan de la secundaria.

THE EDGE The Edge program meets on Monday evenings from 6:00-8:00 pm in the Parish Hall. It’s a program for middle school youth, between the ages 11-13 that gives teachings about the Bible and current issues. We also keep it fun for the kids by playing games that encourage them to interact with other middle school youth. It's free of charge, and Edge is a good way to keep the kids motivated to have God in their lives and continue their religious journey with the Con irmation program after middle school.

Looking for Volunteers Do you want to get involved in the parish? There are many opportunities to help us with-in the parish such as: Extra-Ordinary Minis-ter's of Holy Communion, Lectors, Ministers of Hospitality (ushers), Catechists, Catechist aides, Choir (singing or playing an instru-ment), etc. If your answer is "Yes" and you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please stop by the parish of ice or call us to leave your name, phone number and which ministry you are interested to be involved in.
