Ergonomic Tips

• Position your chair at comfortable height

• Roll chair rather than bending to reach things.

• Place keyboard at elbow height.• Position your screen at eye level. • Put your mouse next to the

keyboard. • Use your whole arm to move the

mouse

1. Keep work area clean and aisles clear.2. Keep scissors & other sharp objects away

from the edge of desk.3. Use caution when examining a jammed

stapler4. No food/drink around computers.5. No “horse playing” 6. Never store a paper cutter with the blade up.

7. Do not stand in, lean back, sit on the edge of a rolling chair

8. Pull by the plug not cord when unplugging an electrical cord (Should not extend across an area where people walk)

9. Scissors cut only fabric or paper (not plastic or metal); carry with blade facing down & pass them with handle facing the other person

10. There are blades in the die cuts; only cut 1 to 2 sheets at a time

11. Laminator is extremely hot and will burn12. Always place a sheet of paper underneath a

hot glue gun to keep drips off the tabletops; Hot glue will burn!

13. All supplies, equipment, materials, and books must be returned to the proper places and your work area cleaned up as you finish a project or before the class is dismissed!!

14. Do not leave anything on the tables, countertops, or floor!!
