HOLIDAY HOMEWORK (2018-19)

CLASS II

Dear parents,

Holidays are the time when you get a chance to connect with your child in many

ways. As you are your child‘s first and most important teacher, you can encourage

your child‘s love for learning by participating in educational activities at home.

Working together on the activities will help your child to build confidence, learn to

reason and develop skills necessary for her education. So, utilize this golden period

of family reunion and strengthen your family ties with your kids and relatives.

Gear up and utilize your time in the best possible manner. Dear Children,

Vacation is a time when you connect with your friends, family members and

relatives. So, all of you ―FIX A GOAL AND STRIVE HARD EACH DAY TO ACHIEVE IT!” Here are a few tips for you to follow:

1. Free play time should alternate with structural game - this cultivates

sportsmanship. 2. Assign a permanent workplace and a work-time. This brings in discipline in

your life. 3. Reading from colourful illustrated story books will develop your language

skills. 4. Inculcate good manners – 4 magic words ―Please, Thank you, Excuse me,

Sorry‖ – Use them and see the difference.

5. Help your mummy to keep the house clean. Do small household jobs like

dusting, watering the plants, laying the table and so on. 6. Plan some outdoor and indoor games. 7. Go out for morning walk, talk about things you see around. 8. Listen stories from family members and try to narrate them. 9. Plan a daily routine for yourself and your family members. Pen it down

and follow it. Spend quality time with your parents. 10. Last but not the least – ―Always speak in English with your family

members and friends.‖

11.Help your child learn the School song, prayer and Dadaji‘s aarti.

12.Refer to your diary (pg no- 17).Perform the weekly tasks related to cleanliness

during the vacation, and make a note of them in your Weekend Task notebook.

Compile all the worksheets in a beautiful folder made by the child

under your guidance.

2 (a). Daddy’s Day Out : Father‘s Day is observed on the third Sunday of June. It honours all fathers , grandfathers and father figures for their contribution. So on this Father‘s Day— Pamper your Dad.

Make him feel special in every way.

Surprise him by giving him a self made card. 2 (b). Prepare a mouth-watering recipe which might become his all time favourite. An example of one such recipe is given below.

RECIPE TIME— ‗Banana Split Ice Cream‘ with your mother‘s help. Ingredients:

1 Scoop of Vanilla ice cream

1 Scoop of strawberry ice cream

1 Ripe banana

Some nuts

Chocolate Syrup

Method: Wear your chef cap and apron. Cut a banana in half lengthwise and lay it in the dish. Put scoops of vanilla and strawberry ice cream served in a row between the split banana .Garnish it with crushed nuts and chocolate syrup. Enjoy your banana treat. Click pictures and paste them on an A-4 size sheet and write the ingredients and methodology of the recipe too.

3. The month of August is very special because we celebrate our beloved Dada J.P

Vaswani‘s Birthday in it. This year is all the more special because we are

celebrating Dadaji‘s Centenary Birthday.

4.5th June is celebrated as World Environment Day. It is the responsibility of

each one of us to do our bit to save our environment. So come and let‘s become the

green ambassadors and plant a sapling in a plastic bottle. Using your imagination

and creativity, make the bottle attractive and beautiful. Bring it to school after the

summer vacations.

5.International Yoga Day is celebrated on 22nd June all over the world. Make it

a routine during summer vacation to devote at least 15 minutes in doing meditation

and practicing simple breathing exercises to make your body and mind fit and fine.

Mention the names of the yoga asanas that you tried and get your pictures clicked

while doing them and paste it on an A-4 size sheet.

6. Number Grid : In order to enhance the mathematical skills of students in the

coming months, write the numbers from 1-100 on an A-4 sheet (size 10 by 10

inches) as shown in the figure given below and get it laminated.
