From Fr. Joseph:
Dear brothers & sisters in Christ,
After the Advent and Christmas seasons, we are back to the
“Ordinary time” this Monday. At this time, I want to thank
each and every member of our parish for your participation,
help, and the contributions to our church. I believe, with all
your hard work and dedication, we had a very Blessed and
Joyful Christmas!
I specially thank all those who were in charge of our various
ministries—like Christmas dinner, music, meals for the shut-
ins, Christmas Float and Parade, children’s liturgy, etc. for
their service and the leadership. Your faith and your service,
definitely help others to grow in their faith too!
I would also like to say a word of thanks to all those who
have sent me Christmas Cards, prayers and wishes and gifts!
Thank you so much for your love, support and help in many
ways. I want to express my deep appreciation and thanks for
your love and support! And now, it is time for me to visit my
family back home; I will be leaving on Monday, Jan 12th
and, I plan to be back on Feb. 6th. In my absence Fr. John
Panamthottam will be in charge. Please welcome Fr. John
and make him feel at home!
Fr. John was my Provincial (superior) for the last six years-
until April 2014. It was Fr. John who made possible for me to
stay here and serve you all as the pastor at Sacred Heart. I
am very thankful to him for his understanding and support.
At present, Fr. John is teaching in the school (11th & 12th
Grades of the Indian school system). He has been here with
us a couple times before and here really enjoyed visiting us!
All the Mass schedule and all the scheduled events will go
without any changes.
Please pray for my family and my safe return. You all are in
my thoughts and prayers!
Sincerely in Christ,
Fr. Joseph Mundakal CMI

sion in 1973.

The Lawrence County Chapter of Tennessee Right to
life invites you to join them for good speakers, enter-
tainment, food, & fun. For more information, call Pres.

The Four Theophanies
The Baptism of the Lord was originally cele-brated on the same day as Epiphany, as was the Na-tivity. Over time, the church separated the three cel-ebrations which became the Nativity (revelation of Christ to Israel); the Epiphany (revelation of Christ to the Gentiles); the Baptism of the Lord (revelation of the Trinity). There is one additional theophany-the Wedding at Cana (revelation of Christ’s transfor-mation of the World).
Although Jesus had no sin and needed no baptism, by humbly submitting to baptism by John, he sets the example for us!
