• Today, we celebrate the good news of our salvation: the birth of Jesus Christ as one of us, a human being.
• God has always shown his love for us in numerous ways: through the beauty of creation and the love of our family and friends. Today he shows that love in a very special way: in the birth of his beloved Son into our world– God’s gift to all of us! • Isaiah speaks to us today of the beauty of the one who brings us glad tidings: Jesus coming to tell of God’s love. Hebrews goes further, describing Jesus as the one who fully reveals the depths of God’s love for humanity. Finally, the Gospel reminds us that Jesus is the very Word of God, the one from the beginning– God born into human history.

PARISH OFFICE TUESDAY SCHEDULE
Each Tuesday morning a meeting is held for the Parish
Office Staff at 9 AM. As all staff members are in
attendance, our offices will not open until 11:00 AM. All other weekdays we will open at 9AM as usual. Please keep this in mind when planning to visit the Parish office.
REMINDER FOR SAN JUAN DIEGO
The first weekend of the month, December 31 and January 1, is Good Samaritan weekend. This past year Sacred Heart parishioners have been extremely generous to our San Juan Diego Mission Church. Thank you for supplying food and clothing. We will be collecting food next weekend as well as any Rosary Beads you would like to donate for the Children of Uganda. Perpetual Adoration
Faith Discussion Group
Beginning January 5, 2017 the Faith Discussion Group will be starting an evening Scripture study—“Revelation..the Kingdom yet to come”. The study will include a workbook to be completed at home after reading the assigned scripture. In the following session, a discussion and review will take place led by trained facilitators. As well, a video by Jeff Cavins and Thomas Smith will be shown. The group will meet every other Thursday evening from 7-8 PM in Room 8 of the Education Building. Registration will take place on Thursday January 5, 2017 at 7 PM. For information, please contact Betty Rossi at 910-295-0489.
It is our unmerited privilege to adore the same Savior the shepherds came to see in the cave at Bethlehem. He waits for YOU. Please join us in praying for the Bishop who will be appointed for our diocese as well as all our priests and seminarians on Thursday evenings at 6pm in the Adoration chapel. All are welcome. RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
Please note that Wednesday classes will not resume until January 18th, 2017. Sunday
classes resume on January 29th, 2017. The reason for the late start is twofold: (1) It is preferable to give the students about two weeks to adjust to resuming classes and/or a new class schedule and (2) the Religious Education program follows the Moore County School calendar. When there are no classes on a Friday or a Monday, Sunday classes are typically
cancelled to account for those families that travel and are away. As always, be sure to follow the Religious Education Calendar that has been handed out and is available on our website.

There will be NO Matthew 25 Meeting in December
THE JANUARY MEETING WILL BE ON WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 4TH at 9:00 am. This is the second anniversary of the beginning of Matthew 25. All members are invited to come to the 8:00am Mass to thank God for the grace He gives us to be able to serve His people and to ask God for His Blessings on our work.
KNIGHTS IN ACTION Thanks to all of the Knights for their work in placing the Christmas trees in the Church, installing the crèche and other decorations on the Church campus. We have decided to have a Polish dinner January 28 in Founders Hall, prepared by members/spouses of the Knights. Please note starting in January our meetings will now begin at 7P.M.

Day of Recollection January 12, 2017 Women of Sacred Heart will hold their annual Day of Recollection on Thursday, January 12, 2017. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m by Reverend Hector LaChapelle, MS. He will also be our guest speaker at 11:00 a.m. in Founders Hall. Father LaChapelle is retired and currently providing assistance to the pastor at St. Stephen the First Martyr Church in Sanford. Members whose last name begins with the letters A through G are asked to bring desserts. Members whose last names begin with the letters H through Z are asked to bring sandwiches, salads and fruit or vegetable plates. The Nursey will be available for the use of mothers with preschool children. All women of the parish are invited. Come and bring a friend. The Coalition is in need of stew, pasta, pasta sauce and cereal. The Board will meet at 9:00 in room 8.
