Dear Friends,

Two days ago, December 21st, was the shortest day of the year. In other words, it was the day of the year with the least amount of sun light and the most darkness. Now, we have turned a corner. The days will now begin to grow longer, hardly noticeable at first, but gradually as the weeks and months pass by, it will become more and more apparent. Two days from now, December 25th, as we all know so well, is Christmas, the day that the light which enlightens every heart was born and laid in a manger in little Bethlehem. That miraculous birth, though hardly noticeable to the wider world, became more and more apparent as the years of His life passed by, and even more so, as the centuries have passed after His death, resurrection, and ascension into heaven. As we enter into this time of joyful celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, may the darkness that at times can seem so overwhelming be scattered away by this loving Lord who is Light from Light, True God from True God. As the Sun’s rays grow ever more present in the coming weeks ahead, may the True Son’s light fill our hearts and minds with the love and joy which will never pass away!

On behalf of all of the staff of Sacred Heart Parish, I wish you all a very Merry and Blessed Christmas! Praised be Jesus Christ, Now and Forever! Sincerely in Jesus Christ, Fr. John

Our mission is to proclaim the Good News of the Gospel and to develop each student spiritually, intellectually, physically, emotionally and socially, so that each is prepared to live and serve in a changing society as a self-respecting and responsible citizen. We propose to create an environment in which the teachings of Jesus are promoted and proclaimed as the basis of the values they teach and uphold.

Our school proclaims the Gospel's Good News in word and deed, and educates students to live and serve as respectful, Christian citizens.

Our school has open enrollment which means that we enroll students all throughout the year, as long as there is availability in that classroom. We encourage our parishioners to come explore our school. Please let us guide you on a tour to see what Sacred Heart School can mean to your family and your child.

Animamos a nuestros feligreses a venir a explorar nuestra escuela.

esGRANDPARENT PROGRAM AND SOCIAL

Our SHCS students performed a beautiful nativity musical entitled “A Bethlehem Night” for their grandparents on Thursday, December 13th. Many thanks to all our students who inspired us with song and the story of the Christ child’s birth. Their effort and voices were amazing! A big shout out to Miguel Villalobos who had the lead role in the play as well as two solo performances. Another shout out to Cooper Fleeman who led the production with his great “narrator” voice. We were so entertained by this talented cast.

In addition, our 8th graders performed “Hail, Holy Queen” from Sister Act. This is a repeat performance. When this class was in 3rd grade, Ms. Katie Meseroll taught them this song as part of their religion studies. They performed it again as 8th graders for our Angel Katie in Heaven. We know she smiled for sure! RIP Katie Meseroll

Now, we are all looking to our

Spring Musical Performance and what our students will do! Save the

SSECOND GRADE REACHES OUT

Our students continue each week with our SHCS Virtues Program and a new virtue to study and “act on”. Last week, our virtue was KINDNESS. Mrs. Hurysz’s 2nd graders made Christmas cards for nursing home residents and showed their kindness.

THROUGH THE EYES OF A CHILD We have been so fortunate that one of Santa’s elves has been visiting SHCS daily…and he has been up to such mischief! TINK flew in on a hot air balloon on his first visit…has been caught sleeping while doing his math homework… messaged the students with M & M candies…and zip lined in to say hello to our Grandparents. What will he do next?

Esta Semana

Calendario

Queridos Amigos,

-Canto tradicional
