2019 Annual Report Dear Friends, At Caring House, residents and families, hospice teams, and Caring House donors, volunteers and staff all come together to do something wonderful -- improve the end-of-life experience for men and women and families. 2019 was our third full year of operations. We welcomed 93 residents and families. That’s a nice boost from 18, 45, and 77 welcomed in 2016 to 2018, respectively. Please help keep the momentum going by volunteering or donating or helping to spread the word. On behalf of the many residents and loved ones whose lives will be touched by your support, thank you. Sincerely, Edward W. Long, JD Volunteer and President Caring House and Hospice We welcome residents who are using Medicare-certified hospice services. Hospice service teams offer medical care and pain and symptom management, as well as spiritual support, counseling and education. Hospice team members visit those residents and provide vital support to them and their loved ones, in collaboration with our staff. Residents and families select a hospice service before the resident comes to Caring House. Sixteen distinct hospice services have now served our residents. Volunteers Make Us Strong In 2019, 47 Caring House volunteers teamed to give more than 5,175 hours of their time and energy. That’s more than 14.1 hours per day, seven days a week. In dollar terms, that’s a $127,000 combined gift in support of Caring House residents and loved ones (based on Independent Sector’s $24.69/hour value of volunteer time in 2018). 2019 Annual ReportDear Friends,

At Caring House, residents and families, hospice teams, and Caring House donors, volunteers and staff all come together to do something wonderful -- improve the end-of-life experience for men and women and families.

Sincerely,

Edward W. Long, JDVolunteer and President

Caring House and HospiceWe welcome residents who are using Medicare-certifi ed hospice services.
